i was deadly serious by the way
I swear i am not joking about this

Well it happened again the other day after i got up to go into the kitchen(at home luckily)
I now have a real fear of it happening in public and dread going to work.
What can i do please?

All I can think of is using a tampon - do you think that would help?

MehgaLegs · 20/05/2008 14:22

Symapathies but I think it was taken lightly beacuse you turned it into one of those "guess what happened to me type threads" and then strung it out a bit too long.

fryalot · 20/05/2008 14:22

I have no advice, but I wanted to give you my sympathy and not laugh at you.

Tis not a laughing matter.

IHaveToMoveFarFarAway · 20/05/2008 14:22

But can i use a tampon if i am not on a period?
Isnt that dangerous?

OP posts:
MehgaLegs · 20/05/2008 14:25

Pelvic floors, hardcore pelvic floors, that is the answer.

pinkmook · 20/05/2008 14:27

I know we might snigger but it must have been soooo embarrasing have you seen these

maybe they could help?

Lulumama · 20/05/2008 14:27

have you been to the doctor? been doing pelvic floor excercises?

Mercy · 20/05/2008 14:28

Haven't read your other thread but no you shouldn't use a tampon unless you have a period.

What's the problem?

IHaveToMoveFarFarAway · 20/05/2008 14:29

I havent seen a doctor about this no ,too embarrassing.

Does anyone have one of those machines ?

I didn't think my pelvic floor was that bad as i dont have incontinence issues.

IHaveToMoveFarFarAway · 20/05/2008 14:29

Accidental fanny farting

OP posts:
IHaveToMoveFarFarAway · 20/05/2008 14:30

not even during sex

OP posts:
Lulumama · 20/05/2008 14:31

well, if you are too embarrassed to go to a doctor, then you are not going to get very far in finding a solution. surely seeing a doc and getting help is better than being too embarassed to go to work etc..

Tatterdemalion · 20/05/2008 14:33

phone GP's. Ask for a telephone consultation (with a female Gp if that would help). They may well refer you to womens health physio for an assessment.

If is a problem that is causing you this much fear and worry then start with your GP.

Oh and I would also say don't wear a tampon unless you have your period.

pinkmook · 20/05/2008 14:34

No I am sure its not as bad as those machines suggest but being a lazy bugger myself I immediately look for the easiest way of doing stuff (I hated doing kegels) and if I had had the money after DS I'd have bought an electrical thingy to save me the work !!

Mercy · 20/05/2008 14:41

What about a Well Woman type clinic?

IHaveToMoveFarFarAway · 20/05/2008 14:43

ooh lulumama you sound stern
So i really go into the doctors and say "i have a fanny fart problem please help me"
God i cant

So i guess i should start saving for one of those machines then.

What i dont get is that i am not incontinent so how can my pelvic floor be that bad?

OP posts:
Tatterdemalion · 20/05/2008 14:50

IHTMFA - I can absolutely promise you that your Gp will have heard and seen far far more embarrasing stories than this one. If you can't face them then ask for a phone consult. Your GP is very unlikely to do an examination, they could easily sort a physio ref over the phone.

why spend money on a machine if you don't know why you have the problem yet?

A womens health physio will take a full history and can you advise you on specific exs for this (should they be needed). The pelvic floor doesn't just hold wee in btw

slim22 · 20/05/2008 15:00

pelvic floor exercises and maybe one of the aforementioned machines is the only way forward.

You know what might come next? prolapse

so get yourself to the GP and discuss it

IHaveToMoveFarFarAway · 20/05/2008 15:01

feck me slim22 make me feel better why dont you

OP posts:
Blu · 20/05/2008 15:21

Air is mentioned as an issue by a poster on the Embarrassing Illnesses website, on the prolapse page here - but do not open this link in the presence of your boss, flirtatious colleague, small child or immature mates of DH/P as it has a huge close-up pic of a real life fanjo at the top

Medowflowers · 20/05/2008 15:30

Bloody hell.

TigerFeet · 20/05/2008 15:36

You really need to see your GP

We can't diagnose you or tell you how to fix it as no-one here is able to tell over the interweb what is causing the problem.

I appreciate you will be embarrased but it's all in the phrasing isn't it?

Perhaps "I am getting embarrassing wind noises from my vagina. I am upset and embarrassed" might be the way forward

Why save up and spend a fortune on a machine that may not even solve the problem when a GP can point you in the direction of people that can actually help?

Vev · 20/05/2008 15:38

My mate has this problem and she was under a gynae for something different and the last time she saw him she mentioned this (she works with an office full of men and was embarrassed in case they could hear it). He had a look and said there was nothing to suggest a prolapse but it was a bit "slack" and recommended pelvic floor exercises.

SummatAndNowt · 20/05/2008 15:43

My mum had that problem and was diagnosed with a prolapse.
