Does anyone else suffer with it?! I'm sat here listening to my husband SLURP his gravy and it's knocking me sick 😂 i dread dinner times, puts me in a bad mood
Is there even a cure for this awful problem? Misophonia not the husband 😂

Whilst this thread makes me feel so much better that I'm not alone. Has anyone tried anything - CBT, therapy, something else - that has actually helped?

It's getting to the point where I'm finding it actually quite debilitating. I feel my kids are missing out on things because I'll avoid situations where I know there's going to be noises I can't tolerate. I also don't want them to pick up on my noise issues and end up with them struggling with them too. I'm willing to throw money at anything that might help!

Nothing helps. I've tried the lot, from hypnosis to antidepressants all they did was remove the need for noise as a trigger (made things worse i a way!)

Noiseless jiggling of feet, the anticipation of a clicky pen being clicked. I cannot look. I get the same rage.

and @CanteringAlong , no not generally ND - misophonia must be some sort of auditory processing disorder, but with the visual element added, can't help thinking it is some form of ND.

I have chronic sinus issues which have affected my hearing and I think that makes my misophonia worse. I work at home and thankfully have very little noise most of the day. My worst triggers at the moment are DH eating (natch), DS bouncing a ball in the next room - the repetitive thudding is maddening - and also if someone is sharing the sofa with me and they tap the seat or adjust their position with a thud - it actually sends my whole nervous system into meltdown. It's hard to explain to people who don't have it - it's a physical sensation akin to pain.

Omg I always wondered why I was so triggered and nobody else was!

The fork scraping, slurping, the jaws clicking oh I could go on
I also have trypophobia....are these linked??

Partner snd friend aren't annoyed by either...

I also have trypophobia!! The very description on Google (i had to check it to make sure it was the right one) sent me into a cold sweat. How could they be linked??!!

Euuuurgh - trypophobia. I have that too.

Also have issues with non-audible things such as jiggling legs, people twiddling their hair, my husband moving his feet constantly - I have to build a cushion wall on the sofa so I can't see it.

I'd pay so much money to "cure" me - it's really getting in the way of normal life now.
