Fell off a slide

I didn't mind the gap when getting on the tube and one leg slipped down and got squashed between the train and the platform. Very badly bruised and swollen but at least nothing worse.

Have fallen down my stairs several times, once on the basement stairs and crashed into the concrete wall head first, and landed on my hip on the wooden stairs. Very painful.

Not exactly an injury. I have a contact skin allergy to various things... normal stuff like too much washing up etc.

But the strangest bit... I'm allergic to artifical Christmas trees. I get a really bad rash from touching them.it calms down after an hour or so fortunately.

I’m a walking accident… some examples:

Cut my nose this weekend putting rubbish in the wheely bin. I opened the bin partly and the lid fell on my face.

Dropped an open tin of tomatoes which hit my ankle cutting off a chunk of skin in the process. Was very hard to see what was tomatoes or blood!!

Fell at work when I tripped on a box, took my foot out and slid on a plastic pocket left on the floor. Went flying and hit my knee with such force that I end up with a carpet burn.

Missed a step on the garden stairs, tried to save myself and rubber legged on the next step and bounced down the remaining two.

Fell onto a dollys pram and cut my face on it.

Fell off my bike when my hat went over my eyes and went over the handlebars.
😂
I really could go on all day

That is strange, I’m allergic to real ones but seem to manage to forget this ever year until I’m part way through decorating and realise my hands are really itchy.

Scalded the underside of my nose sniffing the steam from the boiling kettle!!
Mid boil I suddenly questioned if I’d fully rinsed the descaler liquid I’d used in it and for some stupid reason I thought I would just sniff the steam. It was blistered and sore for a good week!

I cut my finger in a chewing gum rack, in a hospital newsagent where I was working at the time, ironically in the theatre suite.

The strange thing is, I did not notice or feel the injury.

A scrub nurse tried to stop the bleeding in theatre 6, but it would not stop.......whilst a surgeon was leaning against the table offering to amputate, which was very kind of him! ( He was joking).

I thought it was wierd and my coleagues found it hilarious.

There was no patient in the theatre at that time.

Years ago some cameras had little flash cubes on them. I tried to take a photo of my sister but had the camera the wrong way round and the flash burnt my forehead.

That’s made me choke on a drink!
😂😂😂😂

First time ice skating, jan 2024, my daughter went to fall so I leapt to save her and ended up breaking my elbow. It’s recently been re-xrayed due to pain and I’ve got a malunion (basically still broken somehow!) 2 bloody years later. It’s my first broken bone and I must admit it really, really hurt!!
My green fingered partner chopped the tip of his finger clean off whilst using kitchen scissors to ‘trim the edges of the lawn’. 🤣

Managed to shut my hand in my car door when heavily pregnant

ChinFluff46 · 08/01/2026 09:56

In mid 20s decided to take up skating. Tried to roller blade down a massive drop. Fell at the bottom and hit my under forearm..bruised the bone so I had a lump of calcification and the bruise over half the arm turned spectacular colours. GP just told me off.

ChinFluff46 · 08/01/2026 09:59

Mine are more stupid than wierd, I have a few of them 🤣 Was hit by my own surfboard (number one rule is never let the board go in the shallows, the instructor distracted me!!), and needed knee surgery, could not bend it and had to wear a leg brace and crutches for 8 weeks.

After a night of drunken passion I got out of bed and slipped on a used condom, flew forward like a skier and crashed into the bedside cabinet foot first. Fractured a toe.

😂😂Sorry, I shouldn't laugh ❤ but it was such an unexpected hazard.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 08/01/2026 10:13

I fell off the toilet (I was standing on it to do something to the window above). Toilet seat slipped, I went sideways, took a huge chunk out of the cistern with the back of my head. Lump and bruise that made brushing my hair difficult for ages.

AquaForce · 08/01/2026 10:20

When I started uni one of my first nights out I was introduced to trebles. This wasn't a thing where I grew up and I seriously underestimated how drinking treble vodkas would affect me.

During that evening I fell down three separate flights of stairs and slipped on a fourth but caught myself as I grabbed the hand rail. The first was the worst one. I remember being at the top and stepping down. Next thing, I opened my eyes and I was upside down at the bottom.

I was sharing a flat with a student nurse who said she'd never seen bruising like it. My shin was bruised for several months. Somehow I didn't have any serious injuries.

BruceAndNosh · 08/01/2026 10:26

Using a heavy duty sellotape dispenser in an office.
Sliced a sizeable chunk off the pad of my thumb.
Hurt like hell

thistimelastweek · 08/01/2026 10:27

Can't decide between;
shutting my own nose in a cupboard door and giving myself two magnificent black eyes or,
glueing my thumb to the nail of my other thumb with a nail repair solution that outglues superglue.

I slipped slightly in a hot tub, just from standing to sitting on the seat with a bit of a 'bump'. I didn't even spill my prosecco. The next day I was in excruciating pain, turns out I fractured my coccyx. I couldn't sit with awful pain for 4 years and was in pain every night. I would cry in meetings at work and on drives. Standing up was agony. I had to carry a chair donut with my everywhere Incase I'd have to sit down. It's fine now (8 years later) but I still can't do a sit up without pain.
