Am 42 this year. 5 foot 8. Weighed 11 stone 2 this am.

I eat too much.

Today I have eaten a small bowl of porridge with a banana

have fruit, oatcakes and philly lite plus a yog in my packed lunch

No wine, bread or butter allowed for a week. Horror.

Those stats sound fine to me, but I guess if you don't feel happy..

Good luck with it. Is it no bread products at all? Including crumpets, pittas etc?

Beetroot · 07/04/2008 10:15

enid - I am the same - can look fine but same weight as you and height....I need to stop drinking wine and eating choc. Cutting out wheat or dairy is good for me

TheHonEnid · 07/04/2008 10:24

I am trying not to eat wheat - really because then I won't eat cakes/biscuits/bread and butter and huge bowls of pasta! Dh is away for a week so not drinking is easier.

Know what you mena Enid - right I will go with you this week but will be drinking a bit as have mates over.

No diary though for me
and running

Anna8888 · 07/04/2008 10:26

Ooh Enid I am the same age as you (42 this June).

I think I need to stop drinking wine (easy) and eating croissants (very hard).

Beetroot · 07/04/2008 10:39

pmsl at diary

sorry obv meant dairy

niceglasses · 07/04/2008 10:43

Oh I need to join this. I am 5ft 5 and weigh 10 and half. too much wine, bread, pasta.

I need to start today but really really want to go to McDonalds as hungover somewhat. Any alternative suggestions to make me feel less seedy......?

Would love to shed 10 pounds.

maidamess · 07/04/2008 10:44

Hon, I am an inch taller than you but weigh about the same...I had no kitchen for a while a few weeks ago so really cut back on the bread I was eating and had oaty type breakfasts, and no toast. I lost half a stone in 2 weeks! No eating between meals either, which is my downfall.

Of course now I have better facilities here it is slowly coming back, but I felt so good without all that bready bloat going on!

Makes me fart too. (Sorry, TMI)

TheHonEnid · 07/04/2008 10:56

Oooh how lovely, some compadres!

Yes I suspect bread also makes me fart. We shall see .

I am a full-on PIG - I eat much more than most women I know - however I don't tend to pig on chocolate or sweets, just big portions of food, too much wine and loads of eating between meals - kids tea a real downfall - am looking forward to dh being away as this means I can
a) eat with kids when starving
b) not drink wine - he is dreadful for opening bottles in the week
c) go to bed early with good book/Americas Next Top Model

Anna I would be a stone heavier than this if I lived in France (croissants)

maidamess · 07/04/2008 11:00

Hon, if you cut out sugar and bread you will shift at least a couple of pounds in a week I reckon . And will stop contributing to the Greenhouse effect. Win- win situation!!

Anna8888 · 07/04/2008 11:01

No you wouldn't Enid - all the slim women around you would be a powerful disincentive to over eating.

Plus all the portions are smaller here

My partner goes to the bakery too often, though. And I don't know how to stop him

TheHonEnid · 07/04/2008 11:01

sugar....hmm I have sugar in my tea and coffee and CANT give those up (my only comfort)

OP posts:
Beetroot · 07/04/2008 11:42

weak black tea

TheHonEnid · 07/04/2008 12:04

boak

can't do it, sorry

although I do like camomile tea (with no sugar)

have drunk two cups today (also 2 cups of tea with milk and half a spoon of sugar)

TheHonEnid · 07/04/2008 12:05

yes thats true anna french women are so fabulously in control and svelte

except in brittany obv where lard and cropped red hair de rigeur

Anna8888 · 07/04/2008 12:43

I'm not sure whether the women are in control or whether the environment (pressure, lack of snacking opportunity, plus all that walking to school, shops etc) controls them. A mixture of the two. But IMO it is much easier to stay slim in Paris.

TheHonEnid · 07/04/2008 13:10

ok about to leave for home

this is when I SNACK REALLY BADLY

am STARVING by 4pm

OP posts:
Beetroot · 07/04/2008 13:25

Ok, today was crap.

I gave into the McDonalds calling. It did cure my hangover tho.

Also made yummy risotto for tea. So thats about 3000 cals today then.

I am SO starting tomorrow. I have a wardrobe full of clothes I can not get one cheek of my arse in.

Enid · 08/04/2008 10:52

11 stone and a quarter this am

porridge, banana, tea for breakfast

oatcakes, philly and fruit for lunch

M and S fish pie for supper (350 calories) and veg

will no doubt snack at 3pm though

NO WINE

GreatAuntieWurly · 08/04/2008 10:55

watch out for snack a jacks. I always bought these for ds1 as I thought they was a healthy snack but the sugar content was huge. At ds1 mend programme they told us to change from white bread, rice and pasta to brown. Make sure that everything that you eat has less then 5g of sugar and 5g of fat per 100g, anything over 5g is too much. Try to have "brown" cereals, shreddies, weetabix, bran flakes etc etc as the fibre content is good.

Enid · 08/04/2008 10:57

thanks for that

I do eat Kallo Marmite rice cakes, will check sugar
