we buy morrisons own brand eat smart caramel rice cakes. They cost about £1.15 per box but there is little multipacks inside containing 5 rice cakes per pack which work out 100 calories and only 0.4g of sugar which is nothing.

I crave savoury things

particularly hot savoury things

Beetroot · 08/04/2008 13:12

had loads of wine last ngiht and a pasty today - not doing too well.

no dairy apart from pasty
and ran 3 miles

crappola

Enid · 08/04/2008 14:54

running - tick, vg

pasty and wine very very bad

Anna8888 · 09/04/2008 08:19

Enid - oatcakes, philadelphia and fruit is not a sustaining lunch [severe emoticon] - no wonder you succumb to snacking in the afternoon.

If you want to avoid snacking, eat a small bowl of something hot (vegetable soup is ideal), a small portion of lean protein (eg chicken breast), a small portion of carbohydrate (eg a small bread roll) with a little fat (butter or cheese).

Then fruit.

charmkin · 09/04/2008 08:34

have just read india and nerys idiot proof diet
not sure about the no carb thing
but some of the reasons for overeating are interesting...

Enid · 09/04/2008 10:56

I bought that book then flogged it on ebay

god it was irritating

soup - yes I know must get round to making some

had m and s low cal fish pie last night - actually rather nice

porridge and banana
and piece of cheese

off shopping now so will buy a few low fat bits

I weigh the same as yesterday

tried to go for a long walk with the buggy this am but abandoned as dd3 YELLED to get out and walk the whole way . ended up walking at a snails pace examining every tiny stick and puddle [yawn]

Anna8888 · 09/04/2008 11:02

I do an awful thing that no proper diet book recommends when I want to lose a couple of kilos.

I skip lunch and have a pâtisserie from Ladurée instead .

I'm hungry but at least it was extremely pleasurable and glamourous. And the diet works

Enid · 09/04/2008 16:27

m and s!

its the dieters friend!

lunch: sushi, wheat free cinnamon raisin bar thing

snack: small pot low fat hummus and cherry toms

some ready meal thing tonight

[feels vaguely suicidal]

Anna8888 · 10/04/2008 09:34

Enid - you inspired me to give up my morning croissant. No croissants now for four days

My digestion is SO MUCH BETTER.

Why is it so hard to not eat them when I know that they upset my insides so much???

Enid · 10/04/2008 13:12

11.1 this am

have been cooking a lot this am so lots of(ahem) 'tastings' - its not my fault that my children like veg and pasta soup with lots of butter and olive oil in it OR pasta sauce with chorizo, honest guv.

still no bread. Can't say I have really noticed any difference (sob)

Beetroot · 10/04/2008 13:13

beentotally crap but now mate has gone I am goingto stat.

Enid · 10/04/2008 13:14

you are so good though beety you RUN

I tried running and went out one morning in the bright cold sunshine and got a terrible migraine

now I dont want to do it anymore

although I walk a lot

Beetroot · 10/04/2008 14:20

you have to start slowly

just run very slowly for 10 mins and build it up.

GreatAuntieWurly · 10/04/2008 14:28

what about a mini trampoline for excercise, I got one for £14 in argos

Pannacotta · 10/04/2008 16:27

Enid dont give up the fat totally or buy low fat things, fat is filling as well as tasty.
Also wheat free things like you bagel are often laden with sugar/calories etc.
Good fats such as oliy fish and oliver oil are essential, wish I coudl say the same fo rbutter
Ian Marber Food Doctor books are good IMO, try ebay/greenmetropolis for cheap copies.

Enid · 11/04/2008 09:18

10 13.5 this am
