I have had these for last few years , now more and more, on abdomen and breasts. I hate them. They make me feel horrible. Have been GP who said DPN / sebhoric keratosis totally benign and to live with it . Does anyone else have these ? Tood
more common on people with colour. I have tried castor oil without any lucky. Any suggestions / pics would be fab x

I have them too, and I am not a person of colour. I had a lot taken off my stomach a while ago, but they came back.
Recently, there were two larger ones which were irritated by clothing, so I had those removed, but basically I just live with them.

S22 · 06/06/2024 21:11

do yours look like how mine do? What did they tell you they were when u removed them? Mine are side of breasts and under too.

Yes, mine are very similar to yours. I also have some that are red (lucky me!).

In February 2024 derm took off what she said were inflamed seborrheic keratoses. Said did not need biopsy.

Years ago I had a lot of them removed from my stomach for cosmetic reasons. Don't remember exactly what he called them, but he said they were completely harmless.

S22 · 07/06/2024 06:23

Did they come back after u removed them? Were they removed on the nhs?
mine are around breasts too

The ones on my stomach came back (NHS years ago), but the inflamed ones (private, January) haven't yet.

RichardsGear · 07/06/2024 07:05

There was a thread the other day about this where people were discussing treatments which have worked for them.

LegalAlienated · 07/06/2024 07:12

My sister and I both have this. If they are on the bra line I’d get them removed but otherwise I try to live with them.
My grandma had them on her face as well, that did not look great and you remove one, another will grow somewhere.

Ciderlout · 07/06/2024 07:15

They’re basically like warts that people get when they get older. You could use bazucca on them and the acid will dissolve them. Yes they can grow back but bazucca them again

S22 · 07/06/2024 16:50

@LegalAlienated are yours like mine ? I feel like no one has as many as me ! I read somewhere they could mean an underlying cause so worried. Have u seen derm? Yes mine are on bra line too, have u removed yours

peopoe with these - are they sebhoric keratosis or Papulosa nigra ???

OP posts:
Citygirl17 · 07/06/2024 19:36

Are you asking us what we think yours are, OP?

Or what we were told about ours?

S22 · 07/06/2024 20:17

Both please xx

OP posts:
Citygirl17 · 07/06/2024 21:22

I was only ever told they were seborrheic keratosis.

I would think yours are the same, but I'm not a doc.

lennonj · 07/06/2024 21:30

I have lots of seborrheic keratosis on my abdomen too, some on my back as well. I would love to get rid of them.

S22 · 08/06/2024 18:55

@lennonj have you had yours checked ?

OP posts:
S22 · 08/06/2024 20:19

I’ve been using castor oil on them haven’t noticed a difference yet. Have any of you lovely ladies tried anything ? I’m also trying to eat less meat to see if it helps. Have cut out milk too as diet can play a huge part in everything

OP posts:
lennonj · 08/06/2024 21:50

Haven’t had mine checked, my mum has lots too and as she’d been to the drs I knew what mine are. I did buy something that you paint on, I think it’s for verrucas (!) but it didn’t make any difference.

LegalAlienated · 10/06/2024 08:14

@S22 I’ve self diagnosed. DPN seems to be more on the face, and it looks different.
Mine are more flat, mole like things with crusts.
If you want a proper diagnosis and treatment, you should perhaps see a dermatologist. The keratosis type will probably be considered cosmetic, I doubt they’d be removed on the NHS.
I’d not interfere with mine using home remedies/OTC solutions without speaking to a specialist.

S22 · 11/06/2024 01:19

@LegalAlienated yes dpn is more on the face so I’m thinking sebhoric? I’ve researched having many of those could mean an underlying malignant of something so abit worried. Does anyone else have the just on abdomen and breasts ?

OP posts:
S22 · 12/06/2024 07:05

@LegalAlienated were are yours out of interest ?

I have loads of these on my boobs and abdomen, both front and back, on top of my boob and underneath my boob, on my bra line, on my stomach etc

Most of them popped up fairly suddenly when I was 22ish and that was some time ago. If they were caused by any underlying malignancy, I think I'd be dead by now 😄 they look exactly like yours and whilst annoying are 99% likely to be harmless. I've read that there is potentially a correlation between breast cancer and the sudden appearance of sebhorric keratosis on the boob but the area where mine are concentrated was actually ultrasound scanned a few months back (unrelated) and was totally fine. It seems you're worrying unduly about these being a symptom of cancer when they're common and benign, so don't fret about it.

LapinR0se · 12/06/2024 19:13

I have hundreds of the feckers. I have pure white Irish skin and the spots start off also pure white but over time turn brown. They are so ugly :-(

I've had some burnt off which I think is the only solution...I'll need to book a whole day session of burning to get rid of them all

S22 · 12/06/2024 20:29

@Rosecat22 thanks for your message, yes that’s what I read ‘underlying malignancy I.e cancer ‘ so that’s kade me panic. They are on abdomen and breast, have had for last few years but getting more and more. I don’t have no lumps in breast so trying to not panic. Are you a person of color can I ask ? Mines are u fer boob and sides of boobs. If there was something underlying how would I even know as I’ve had these for years but gradually getting more and more

OP posts:
lennonj · 12/06/2024 21:05

By the age of 40, 30% off women have them. They are really common, some of us have lots others a few. If you’re really worried go back to the gp to check or go to one of the private skin clinics so they can check them all out.
Mine are all on my abdomen and breasts too and although I would love them to be gone but I can’t afford to get them all lasered off, especially if they grow back.

Rosecat22 · 12/06/2024 21:40

I'm white as they come.

Under the boobs and on the side of the boobs is totally normal. I assume there is some sort of link between areas that experience a lot of friction/rubbing and these popping up as they're more frequent where my bra sits. You don't have them because you have cancer! As someone who has anxiety, step away from Google and don't worry.
