True

I'm researching vit d at the moment

christmaspaws · 19/12/2023 15:20

My level was 9 in 2020 and I think it's around 66 now
Trying to get it up higher so I take 4000IU daily

mommatoone · 19/12/2023 15:51

I second this. I had a teribble chest infection this time last year. Turned into asthma. I vowed i never wanted to feel that shit again! Been necking the vitamin D now for the best part of 12 months and feel great ( i take the daily drops )

I am currently taking vit d loading doses from my GP as my level is 25 and should be minimum of 50. Have had aches and pains plus fatigue and generally feeling blah for about 6 months. Hoping it makes a difference at the end of the course 🤞

I am taking 50,000IU a week. Is that what you had?

DuchessDandelion · 19/12/2023 16:35

What are co-factors?

stayathomer · 19/12/2023 16:37

Definitely, only started taking after I had Covid and the difference is huge! Was also taking the 2000iu but finding it very difficult to get now so am wondering if they’ve found something out/ people are taking too much etc

Chouxpastryishard · 19/12/2023 16:45

The doctor point blank refuses to test my levels so how do people know what their levels are? She says everyone is lacking in vitamin D

WhenWereYouUnderMe · 19/12/2023 16:46

I have been taking it daily for about six weeks and don't feel any different tbh.

Do you have symptoms of low vit D?

@randomuser2019 thank you, that's really helpful

I thought I might get told to Google it! So I really appreciated your comment (For anyone who cant digest lots of info or struggle to research I always recommend the facebook group) - I'm really struggling with exhaustion and don't have the concentration for Google atm!

brokenbitbybit · 19/12/2023 17:41

@randomuser2019 will do thank you

herbygarden · 19/12/2023 17:43

This is so interesting as someone just recommended vitamin D to me. I am always run down and ill, worth a try!

Def worth a try
Can take 3 - 4 months to see _/ feel a change

2000 iu a day is a good dose - esp in winter

Going to try Actimel, also, thanks for the tip.
The annoyingly thing is, I already regularly eat all of the richest sources of vit D, eggs, fish, mushrooms etc. Not overly keen on dark leafy greens, but will eat for the good of my health. I have had a reduced appetite since about September, lost about 8lbs,but don't need to lose weight. Just so tired of feeling tired!!
