Anal fissure?

I have, what I assume is an anal fissure, but symptoms seem a bit weird. I don't really get any/much pain when actually going to the loo, and no pain at all until about 2-3 hours later when I get burning and shooting pains which last an hour or so.

I'm not remotely constipated (and very rarely am) - I'm vegan so most of what I eat is full of fiber and couldn'tget any more fiberin my diet if I tried! I've had piles before and I don't think it's that again. Is there anything else it could be?

I've been using anusol for a couple of weeks. I think it's got slightly better, but I'm not sure whether I should just carry on or go to the doctor for something stronger? It's not bad enough for painkillers yet. Is there anything else I can get over the counter for it?

Any advice very welcome!

It's called anal fissure support.
See if this link works 🤞.

Thank you, that's really helpful!

Given that you don't have pain on passing a stool, or any history of constipation it sounds odd for an analysis fissure.

Have a look at proctalgia fugax - and obviously see your GP

Forgot to say - there is a small amount of blood when going to the loo, which does fit with a fissure.
