Good morning!

We do - it really reduces the condensation. We only shit the windows completely if it’s REALLY cold, like below zero.

LizzyLongbow · 12/11/2023 17:30

Yes, always.

Bobbotgegrinch · 12/11/2023 17:33

My bedroom window is never shut at night. I likes me some fresh air when I'm sleeping.

Heating isn't on at night, so not worried about it costing much more.

PastTheGin · 12/11/2023 17:40

Always, in every weather. The heating is never on in the bedroom either.
I hate hotel rooms where you can’t open the window, it always makes me feel like I am suffocating!

I'm always surprised by how many houses don't have windows open even in summer. I think any room that an adult has slept in needs to have a window opened in the morning even if only for a very short while.
I know that wasn't your question OP. I sometimes sleep with a window open in winter but not always.

Our bedroom window never gets closed, I love the feeling that fresh air is coming in, our heating comes on 6am - 10pm but it's much nicer and fresher in the bedroom for sleeping.

AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras · 12/11/2023 17:50

Yes, we do. It's only ever shut if there's a storm or very high winds. Fresh air is good for you and we can't stand sleeping in a stuffy room. Luckily we both agree!

YourWinter · 12/11/2023 17:55

Yes, my bedroom windows face north and west and the north facing one is open 24/7 all year round. I don’t like heating on in the bedroom but use a heated throw with an 10.5 tog down duvet, and alpaca bedsocks.

Windmill34 · 12/11/2023 18:24

I have window open 24/7 only close if extremely windy

I've gone to bed with the window open. I'm hoping it helps! DP has his extra cosy pj's on 😅

No chance, I like my windows closed and the room nice and warm. I also get woken by random sounds like animals or my neighbour on gravel driveway so prefer to keep noise out too. I’m here with my pyjamas, bedsocks, 15 tog duvet and blankets over it. I open the window to air the room when I go out in the mornings. DH usually goes home for lunch and closes the window. He feels warmer than I do so he just sleeps on top of the duvet but under the blankets. If he’s really warm he goes to the spare room.

MonsteraMama · 12/11/2023 23:39

Absolutely always, if it's -20° I'm having the window open and the fan on. I don't care if someone comes out and says it'll give you eyeball cancer or whatever, I like my bedroom to be colder than the arse end of a polar bear.

I woke through the night, my nose still very stuffy, throat wheezy. I'm so confused as to whether I need a dehumidifier or a humidifier (sorry, I know that sounds ridiculous stupid) I wake in the morning with condensation on the windows, not much mind you and there wasn't any this morning because the window was open through the night but the room itself is cold feels quite dry in the air if that even makes any sense so I thought I may have needed a humidifier but now I don't know. The summer months don't bother me. It's when the coldness hits, and I'm dreading having a cold every morning.

Sorry if it's been suggested already but it sounds like seasonal rhinitis to me.

toomanykittensnow · 13/11/2023 12:59

Always; unless the wind is blowing in or it's raining really heavily.

megletthesecond · 13/11/2023 13:05

No. Too cold. And too noisy when the birds start up.
FWIW I have the heating on all night, room stays around 22°. I need warm air to sleep. Never get colds or coughs. I am very healthy though.
