Hemarroids/anal fissure/ anal prolapse

Sorry, this is quite an intimate topic.
I would have posted an image I’d said problem but didn’t think it would be welcomed much 🙈😂
if someone has nodules I guess, but In different places, so not all clustered together from their anus, I’m trying to understand what it would fall under.
There’s occasional red blood when wiping, not a worrying amount. Have had this problem for years, never gone away. I’ve used google doctor which said hemarroids go away over time.
also get intermittent itching and when I need to go to the bathroom, it’s like I need to go now.
has anyone experienced similar or got any advice.

My advice is go to the doctor and get this sorted out.

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 21:27

To get an app with my doctor is like trying to win the golden ticket for Willy wonkas choc factory! It’s telephone and then maybe just maybe get an actual doc app. Last year I tried to get one, was sent to pharmacy who gave Ibuscopan and less than 24 hours later rushed though A&E with peritonitis, merkles diverticulum and had to have appendix removed, part of small intestine and so wasn’t pleasant at all. Was looking for others who maybe suffered the same/similar to get an idea so can’t be offered a telephone app. Thanks for your reply x

It’s not raised red bumps like typical hemaroid but nodule shaped fistules

Definitely GP appt. No one on here is going to be able to give you accurate advice. You should get a telephone appt and then they should follow up with a face to face appt.

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 21:46

@Bluelightbaby thanks for your reply.
my gp is running two surgeries with little staff and the initial thing is usually go to the pharmacy. Was looking to see if anyone else had similar albeit difficult to describe without posting photo. Thanks though x

Hi it could be genital warts, can you get to a sexual health clinic? Please don’t be embarrassed the GP or nurse will have seen it all before.

Cally70 · 24/08/2023 22:04

Could it be an anal polyp?

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 22:06

@Scrambledchickens thanks for your reply. It’s not that. I’ve seen more anuses than I would have liked to be honest over trying to find the cause 🙈 guess I’ll just need to demand (in a polite way) a proper app with gp

OP posts:
Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 22:09

@Cally70 the symptoms match anal prolapse and in a way but not to same extent hemarroids. Hemarroids are supposed to be away over weeks, had this so long so don’t think that’s the cause but hoping it is. Apparently different tiers of hemarroids and for this to protrude for so long. Was hoping someone had similar to advise but so difficult to compare really 🙈

Look like skin tags from past hemaroids best get checked out but I believe they don't remove them on nhs anymore

YukoandHiro · 24/08/2023 22:21

Skin tags from old hems or fissures. If you have blood sounds like you have a recurring fissure (I have always had these due to a condition I was born with, and it's much worse post DC2). See a Gp to get a proper examination

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 22:22

@lavagal thank you for your reply and sorry for the image but I didn’t think people could understand without seeing 🙈 been an issue for me for a long time x

@YukoandHiro
thank you so much for your reply and sorry for the image x

Sorry not looked at photo, but haemorrhoids that have probably gone away can leave anal fissures that still bleed when you do a number 2. Depending how severe they are you will probably have to try a special cream for 8 weeks, or you can get botox injections which my DH had. It helped for a while but didn’t take them away completely, but he’s a lot better. You do really need to be seen. If you can’t get your GP you should ring 111 and they may get you a GP appointment

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 22:29

@Mindymomo
thank you for your reply.
give me quite some grief sometimes with pain, itching and pain going to toilet.
hope your DH is better soon.
I’ll try get GP app, not easy and then being referred to another dept takes such a long long time.
thanks 😊 x

I'm actually glad you posted that photo (not in a creepy way) because I have exactly the same thing and have been treating it as piles unsuccessfully for 23 months since having ds!

Now know it's a skin tag from haemorrhoids!!

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 22:38

@ohhnoo
if it is skin tags, how are we supposed to deal with it? Not sure about you, but I get really bad pain when going to the toilet which lasts up to 10-15 mins after. Do you have that too?

OP posts:
Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 22:39

I should also say that was a close up image and they are larger than what they appear in the image.
what we do to get some advice 🙈🙈🙈

Persiana · 24/08/2023 22:43

I have the same. It's a nightmare. Have tried doctors over the years with different advice, creams etc. They're getting worse for me over time, starting from when my DC was born 8 years ago. I also have warts nearby and saw someone for those and they said the others were skin tags. I'm a bit in denial tbh

ohhnoo · 24/08/2023 22:46

@Fingerscrossed11 let's sit back and wait for the advice to come in.... eek!! From what I've read about tags when suspecting before I think they need removed if they look like ours
I thought it was a haemorrhoid (nicer word for piles) and read a post months ago on MN about a woman who tied a rubber band round it till it fell off. Like what they do to sheep.....! Haven't felt brave enough to do it

Yes I do get the pain and also struggle to go to the toilet sometimes as it's dry (TMI) but I haven't ever had bleeding, though know it's common

ohhnoo · 24/08/2023 22:46

My DP wonders why I won't DTD from behind anymore, I don't want him to see!!

Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 22:51

@Persiana
its a shame you can’t just see a doctor and get it fixed as surely if it’s affecting you in one way it another, it’s a medical situation that needs fixed

OP posts:
Fingerscrossed11 · 24/08/2023 22:57

@ohhnoo
dont think I’m brave enough for the elastic bands 😂
knowing me, something would go wrong 🙈 its good in a way knowing your not alone with this but at the same time wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
I just find the diagnostic times etc very long so thought you know what I’ll share to mumsnet as I can’t be only one surely 🙈
I was told I had internal piles many many years ago and was decided to do nothing about it.
hopefully get it fixed 🙈
