Chronic hives on boobs , PLS help .I’m miserable

Hello

im a regular poster but just changed my username for privacy. Not a troll pls

Pls I would really appreciate anyones response on if they have experienced this as I have scoured the internet for answers

In January, I was sitting down working from home on my laptop a bit tensed and getting heated up and then this sudden scratch started on my left boob , like something was irritating it. I quickly washed it and hives appeared and took antihistamines and it went down

Since then it’s been happening every two-3 days . Started on the left boob then 2 months later went to the right boob. So since January I have been having this issue

When it starts , HIVES or welts just start appearing from any little pressure on them (sometimes even without touching them) . They just start appearing and I take an antihistamine, calms it down for 2 days and it’s back again

I have done breast scans , dermatologist visits etc ., daktacort, antifungal creams etc. No one can say. It’s so strange because it’s just on my boobs , no where else

From what I have gathered it’s CHRONIC URTICARIA but why just on boobs ?

I try to moisturise when I have just had a. Bath when it’s still wet skin . I don’t even know if it’s working but I notice it happens worse when they are dry . I can’t wear bras anymore

I have had other symptoms don’t know if they are related that started later in the year like burning tip of tongue, dry eyes etc . Done numerous blood tests

I have tried probiotics, fluconazole ( for yeast), so many things

I have attached pics but cropped as much as possible

Anyone had random HIVES on boobs ? Pls help? It’s f..king my mental health

Thank you

Urticaria is an autoimmune disease so diet may be able to help. My aunt had the same but she won’t do anything about it 🙄

Has nobody ever given you a definite diagnosis? She was dx by GP

Poor you. Have you been allergy-tested? Do you use non bio washing powder?

I have chronic spontaneous urticaria, i feel your pain. I went to get allergy tested but the consultant told me its pointless because i had already identified my triggers - heat/sweat, pressure (tight bands on bras/trousers/socks, itching caused raised welts and hives), being submerged in water, the sun. Not fun at all, to be honest i was misserable at it height. I was prescribed 180mg of fexofenadine and had to take 4 a day just to get by without taking a cheese grater to my skin. After about 9/10 months it did stop gradually by itself but the consultant told me there was no trigger to it so theres nothing to say it wont flare up again. Try taking antihistamines daily rather than when you flare up to try keep it at bay, wait a week or so and try a day or two without them. Its awful and you have mu sympathy.

I was told its my body over reacting to a trigger and responding similar to an allergic reaction. Keeps taking antihistamines, it shouldnt turn into an anaphylaxis reaction, avoid stress, none drowsy antihistamines dont have any long term effect so just keep taking them to manage.

i. Thought of taking antihistamines everyday to see if it will fade away but the only ones that work for me are cetrizine hydrochloride which is the Dorsey one and it makes me drowsy the next day even if I take it at night.

fexofenafine does nothing for me. I think I’m just scared it’s just on my boobs and hope it’s not some sort of missed cancer 😩😩 but the breast clinic said cancer won’t come and go so I’m guessing it’s chronic urticaria

I get pressure hives (dermatographia) but not just in one place.
Usually on my arms, stomach and chest. It seems to come in stages, it’s not always bad but sometimes the slightest knock or scratch can flare it up.

I’ve never seen it as anything to stress about, it’s just a weird quirk of my body. Plus I like being able to draw patterns on my skin 😄

Hi.

Steroid cream?

Diet - cut out certain food groups - possibly a new allergy (they can come any time in your life) try for few days and se any noticeable improvements.

Are you spraying a perfume on your chest or neck? Wearing a necklace that irritates?

Stop washing with scented soap there, shower water only. Wear 100% cotton.

There is no reason to worry that it is just the breast area, this is just your trigger area. Like some people only get it on their arms or back. Especially if docs have ruled everything else out.

If it's not itchy, and it's just the look, ignore it and it'll likely go on its own over next few weeks. If it's still there, see what docs say on your next review/appointment.

Jellybean23 · 16/08/2023 22:31

Are you wearing a new bra? I was allergic to a lacy one from M&S, just on the cups.

mummybear247 · 16/08/2023 22:36

My dd has the same all on her chest and neck and knees the time I have spent at the doctors is unreal tried most creams they can give and then a family friend that's a skin doctor told me to try this it's worked wonders for her so might be worth a try

Hows your blood sugar? I get hives/welts on my legs and I seem to get them less often when my blood sugar is under control (I have t2 diabetes)

junebirthdaygirl · 16/08/2023 22:58

Hives were a huge part of perimenopause for me and dry eyes. But hives were in random places not one area. Eventually it went away.
Also did you have Covid as l have had skin issues/ itchiness/ blisters since Covid.
Cold showers help me with antihistamines.

AuntieSoap · 16/08/2023 23:01

I feel your pain, I'm on my third bout of chronic urticaria. Each time lasts about 9 months. I've tried avoiding high histamine foods and all that, but nothing works except a high dose of fexofenadine.

My doctor says that I'm basically allergic to myself. The trigger this time was a bad flu at Christmas time and my body likely went into overdrive to fight the infection and that manifested in hives. The time before that I'd recently given birth, and the first time was when I stayed in a friend's house and she had fleas. I suspect I got bitten and had a massive reaction.

As PP have said, heat and pressure always kick them off. Sorry you're going through this.

ATerrorofLeftovers · 16/08/2023 23:05

Have you tried acupuncture? I’m prone to skin issues and I find it really good, though I usually need a few sessions to knock it on the head (but then won’t have issues for years?. I find it really effective for chronic, systemic issues that western medicine just focuses on treating the symptoms of (usually unsatisfactorily), rather than attempting to identify and neutralise the root cause.

Tatapie · 16/08/2023 23:06

I have suffered over the years with uticaria: sun , heat and stress being the main triggers. Not boobs but thighs, elbows and knees! Anti histamines and cold flannels/ showers , definitely keep the area clean and cool. Its miserable sorry but hopefully will pass. I would try not to worry too much.

ThisWormHasTurned · 16/08/2023 23:14

I’d take regular antiihistamines at night for a while. Won’t do you any harm and may start to ease it. There are Biologics that can help with chronic urcartia, I’d ask a your next Derm appointment if it’s suitable and might help.

Thanks for replying

My blood sugar is ok . They’ve checked me for this multiple times as part of other routine tests
