Has anyone ever saved anyone's life?

Just looking at old holiday photos in Rhodes and remembering when DH pulled a teenage girl unconscious from the sea there. The sea was incredibly rough and I've no doubt he saved her life.
My DF once upended me and with several backslaps stopped me choking on a boiled sweet as a child.
Has anyone ever saved a life and how did it make you feel?

Multiple times - I work in suicide prevention and often support people who are about to, or have already taken steps to end their life. Couldn't put a number on it, been doing it 5 days a week for over 10 years and, to my knowledge, have only lost one.

That was brilliantly told, @larkstar !

Kind of. My brother had drug dealers move into his flat and they got violent with him. The police gave him a pole to prop against the door and told him to not let them in. I said leave and come and stay with me until this blows over and he did. He's now in decent accommodation and doing amazingly. That's the second time I did that. In my 20s he had a crack user come and try to move in with him. He'd just been diagnsoed with schizophrenia. I knew things were not good but I just couldn't reach him. In desperation I said if you are ever in trouble call me. Doesn't matter when or what. Just know you're not alone and I will help you. He made that call. He said he was going mad and he felt like he was gonna lose his flat. I said it's okay, I will come this weekend and we will sort it. I moved in for the weekend and somehow managed to befriend and ship the crack user into a local hostel. The sad thing was she wanted money so I gave her a train fare. Obviously she went to score and while she was gone we changed the locks and took her things to the hostel (which I had discussed doing with her). Her daughter was in care and she had all these drawings by her child and toys which we put into long term storage and paid for six months to give her time to sort herself out. We told her and I think she did check in at the hostel but the storage place called my dad after six months and said she never came for the things. That was sad.

Me no but dh did. He sprang into action when our then 2yr old had a lolly and it came off the stick and instantly got stuck in her throat. One of those hard boiled ones.

I'm awful in these situations, he slapped her back hard a few times. Didn't work. I'm screaming in a panic about to call 999. He puts her over his legs and hits her back again a couple of times and it came flying out. Never been so relieved! Felt so bad for giving her the stupid lollipop! Was so glad he had been there.

@larkstar if the weather/conditions were that bad and you knew she liked the river, why on earth wasn't she on a lead? You may have saved her but you also caused it in the first place by not having her under proper control.
