Recurring spot on inner labia. :(

I am a regular but felt the need to name change for this one.

I have a recurring spot/boil and don't think it's a Bartholin's cyst, as it is about half way along the labia.

It arrives, gets gradually larger (about the size of a pea) and more painful and then a week or so later bursts, oozing out lots of slimey gunk and blood.

Any advice on getting rid of the bugger for good?

Thanks!

LOL Cali - your secret is safe with me

AlistairSim · 27/02/2008 11:19

Yes, I'm pretty sure nobody else has read this thread.

Really, I'm sure nobody has noticed it.

HeppyChick · 27/02/2008 12:01

I know I'm behind the thread but lol at MamaG's sister.

p.s. I've had one too...

LilRedWG · 14/03/2008 16:47

Am being referred to gynae. Dr said it's probably an infected cyst.

LilRedWG · 14/04/2008 21:54

Gynae said it is a Bartholins cyst in her opinion but it's not something she'd normally deal with so to go back to the GP.

LaComtesse · 14/04/2008 22:06

Ok.... can't be asked to namechange for this one.... what the hell... lets go for it....

I noticed I'd got some of these recently plus a generally itchy fanjo plus a rather nasty whiff today. I've spent a fortune tonight buying cystitis tablets and Canesten until I can get to the Drs as I couldn't decide if I have gotten thrush or cystitis or both . I tend to live and die in trousers, bath daily and have never had an STI in my life. Neither am I pg (I think) or newly delivered - after I had my dd, I picked up a hospital infection which was the last time it went whiffy. It sounds awful but at least I know I'm not imagining it having read this. I'm also 36 - so is it age-related??!!

NorthernLurker · 14/04/2008 22:14

I think you should let the doctor take a look tbh. Definately sounds like there's something bacterial going on there. Hope you get sorted asap. I am not looking forward to my mid-thirties having read this thread!!!

LaComtesse · 14/04/2008 22:18

I meant to ring the Dr today but I got so caught up in work, I forgot. Which is pretty silly since I work in a hospital which is stuffed full of them!! I think I may pop over the walk-in centre tomorrow - I've had it for about a week and having googled Bartholins cyst, it's a bit frightening.

NorthernLurker · 14/04/2008 22:26

Hope you can get seen ok

LilRedWG · 15/04/2008 13:31

Good luck - hope you get seen quickly.

LaComtesse · 15/04/2008 21:14

It's a lot better today - not sure if it was the Canesten pessary - had to do something since the itching was something else! or the cystitis drink I've been taking but I've got an appt for Friday at the docs. Probably clear up before then....

LilRedWG · 13/05/2008 11:42

Finally got back to the GP today and she agreed that I do have a Bartholins Cyst, but that's not what's troubling me apparently, so she suggests we leave that alone until/unless it does bother me. I have a couple of cysts formed on my follicles and she's refering me to the hospital to have them removed - OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy stories of pain-free removals please.

LilRedWG · 16/09/2008 11:38

Scheduled to be having them removed on Friday, but they've disappeared, so I don't have to have anything sliced and diced.
