ANYBODY HAVE THE CURE TO HAYFEVER YET?!

I literally cannot deal with this allergy to pollen anymore. Every flipping year I think "nope not gonna get it this year".

I have my two children to take care of (the eldest being two) and it's been a lot more difficult to do so with this hayfever.

I just want to rip my whole head off omgggggg. This should be classed as an illness. I know all these pharmaceutical companies are making a gold mine from these allergy medicines, and if there was a cure then blah blah blahhh, but I'm yet to find one that is actually effective.

They can find a way to get to space, but can't find a cure for hayfever. They can create AI and all these stuff.... Even fake meat!! But cannot have a cure for hayfever.

Seriously man I'm suffering so bad here.. anyway I've had my little rant. Does anyone know of anything that really helps hayfever so that I can function normally throughout the day!!! I've heard of the one where they give you doses of pollen, but isn't that like £3000? Please I'm desperate 😭.

@LakeFlyPie they all knock me out. I took a whole Cetirizine tablet recently as I was in a hurry and didn't take the time to snap it in half.

I spent the rest of the day dozing on any off and was unable to drive until the evening. I felt dreadful, sluggish and sleepy. It's a horrible feeling.

Benadryl Acrivastine works best for me at stopping an attack. I take Allevia every morning, Benadryl after first dog walk, a second Benadryl early evening and Cetirizine before bed and if I'm lucky I'm not woken at about 5am with hayfever.

@EllaRaines I know that feeling, took cinnarizine on a boat trip once and conked out, DH thought I was dead 😳
Thank goodness you've found the olbas oil inhaler

Update!

I consulted my GP a couple days after I posted, as was still so bad after taking the treathay. I was told to take either Loradatine, cetirizine, or fexofenadine twice a day, plus piriton up to four times a day. A nasal spray such as beconase, and eye drops. Whew! Sounded like a lot.

So... Since then, I've been taking treathay twice a day, religiously, using benacort (thank you commenter), and eye drops, and woah what a difference! Today has been super hot, and only had the occasional sneeze. Feels so good to be in the garden with the kids and not be having a sneezing fit, having to go inside.

Thank you everyone for your help! I'll be sure to build up system from early next year ☺️

Glad you’ve got something that’s helped OP. I was recently put on montelukast for asthma and it’s worked wonders for my hay fever too.

Glad you've got it sorted OP. I went to the drs a few years ago and asked for something that worked and wouldn't knock me out and she gave me fexofenedine 120mg, it was amazing and still is! I take it from February/March through to around October and I'm fine.

Last week however I was feeling extremely tired, the way the drowsy meds make me feel so one day I didn't take to see if it was the fexofenedine causing it and I lasted about 5 hours before I had to take it as I got really sneezy and itchy eyed. Once I took my tablet it all cleared up.

Apparently my mum used to get an injection, this was back in the 70's/80's, I didn't know that you could get an injection nowadays until my friend told me she was looking into it for her son as nothing seems to be helping him this year.
