Do you have mental health issues as that is what it sounds like to me?

freshmint78 · 29/05/2023 23:56

i had head lice once i shaved my head bald in the garden .
Then binned all my bedding and hot washed every thing els .

fuckmyuteruslining · 30/05/2023 08:25

I think you need to see a gp urgently. They can work through with you about your symptoms and give you an objective view and help.

Have you washed yourself? Are they still there after?

I had a thorough shower with a flannel this morning, got dressed and my leg flared up.
I will call the doctor as soon as phone line is open. Was a bank holiday weekend,

Seed ticks are the larval stage of adult ticks. Common in wilder areas where there are deer, and can occur in 100s at a time. Some people are quite allergic to their bites. You wouldn't be able to easily brush them off your skin. Are you outdoorsy? Dog owner etc?

I have been to the park where deer come in, is long grass, etc, good thought. Thanks.

That's a bit excessive! Headlice live on people's heads and are transmitted by contact between people, they don't live in bedding. You can get rid of them with leave in conditioner and a nit comb.

Any update from the doctor, OP?

Over the last few weeks OP has posted to say she has lice, threadworm and eyelash mites. I think a conversation with a GP would be a really good idea for her.

catin8oots · 31/05/2023 00:09

Oooh we've never had a parasite troll I don't think.

I'm hoping it's just that and not someone with dreadful health anxiety.

Larner · 31/05/2023 00:14

GP ... GP. ... That's a collection of letters and I recognise the sound but I can't quite call to mind what it means. Maybe I saw one, a long time ago, but I might be misremembering.

I don't think she's a troll. It doesn't even sound like health anxiety it sounds like shes hallucinating and in crisis I really hope her gp got her some proper help.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 31/05/2023 07:29

Hope the GP cam help as it sounds awful.

She did say she's with dirty people though, maybe her job? So she could catch all that? From dirty environment

I've a relative who has the occasional psychotic episode. Everything else can seem normal but she's convinced there's bugs under her skin and it's very real for her - could it be the case here? Even if it's a psychotic thing it's still felt as real.

There are meds that can help if so OP. I hope you can tell the Dr about all the things you've been posting.

LotsOfBalloons · 31/05/2023 08:16

(Although during one admission she did also have scabies which didn't help!)

Actually, to be correct, I ruled that out, which is clear in the thread you refer to.

I’m pretty sure there’s no such thing as lice which live on, or burrow underneath, human skin. Aside from nasty bugs outside of the UK that is.

I’m not being facetious, I’m genuinely only aware of head or pubic lice.

OP, are you sure you don’t have head lice that are dropping down off your head? Grim thought, I know.

@Jellycats4life there is it’s called scabies

LotsOfBalloons · 31/05/2023 09:08

@Calling sorry I haven't seen any of your previous threads - I was referring to my relative who would have psychotic episodes which included the sensation of bugs under the skin - and mentioned that once when she was in a psych until she actually did have scabies which didn't help!

SunnyGrass · 31/05/2023 09:15

Another cute for thunder flies/thrips? It’s coming up to the right week for them.

Why are people arseholes and suggesting mental health issues?

m the first time I got covered in thunder flies I would have sounded crazy posting. Went 40 years without knowing they existed

LotsOfBalloons · 31/05/2023 09:23

Sunny why would you think that it potentially being a psych issue makes someone an arsehole??

I was pointing out that a psych episode can present as a very real indeed"bugs under the skin" sensation to the person having one and its a possibility.

I dont see that being an arsehole thing unless you think by association a condition that has psych roots is someone lesser or arseholey??
