Any tips to ease it? I have Fiflop lace up trainers which I wear a lot. I've been rolling my foot on a spiky ball. A month now and it's not easing at all. What worked for you?

Only thing I can wear on my feet are sketchers never had a problem since

dizzydizzydizzy · 23/04/2023 20:02

As well as rolling your feet, stretch your calves as well .

CharlotteStreetW1 · 23/04/2023 20:03

Gel heel inserts. You can get them from Amazon

icanneverthinkofnc · 23/04/2023 20:04

Rolling foot on a frozen water bottle...stretching exercises..

Looneytune253 · 23/04/2023 20:07

Sketchers accidentally fixed mine. The reviews hadn't been great so I decided on fitflops trainers (they didn't work) and ended up buying some sketchers for aesthetic reasons and they ended up fixing it

Lostinplaces · 23/04/2023 20:08

Spelling out the slaphappy with my foot helps me get some short term relief.

Lostinplaces · 23/04/2023 20:08

Alphabet!! 🤦🏻‍♀️😆

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/04/2023 20:37

Golf ball in the freezer and roll underfoot.

Never go bare foot, Birkenstocks as slippers.

Ice

FannythePinkFlamingo · 23/04/2023 20:48

Thanks all. I've already got some inserts for my shoes, but will get some gel insoles as well. Have dig out my Crocs - usually only reserved for camping and cold water swimming - and am using them as slippers.

Stand with your toes on a step and drop your heels down behind you.

Ive not had a bout of this for years. But to this day, before I get out of bed in the morning I spend a minute tipping my foot up, moving my toes towards my shins, really stretching the foot out. I do it when I’m sat watching tv as well.

bigdecisionaboutwork · 23/04/2023 21:27

Turmeric and black pepper supplements are brill to bring down inflammation.
Foot taping (youtube videos show how)
Lots of the stuff above helps too

Painful! 😫

I suffered for years, off and on, from this. I wore gel heel inserts, rolled my foot over frozen water bottles, stood on stairs to stretch. When all that failed to make a difference I visited GP who said he would inject my foot.

Before my apt date I woke up one morning and it had gone! Like disappeared for no reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope you get relief soon OP

FirkleingFree · 23/04/2023 21:38

Google eccentric exercises - basically controlled heel dips on the stairs. And I found holding a long calf stretch (sitting on the floor with leg out to the side a bit and toes pointing up, yoga style) making sure i held it for more than two minutes, several times a day, very helpful.

Mine lasted 18 months and then just died away. So it does get better but it's very painful while it lasts.

DustyLee123 · 23/04/2023 21:40

The only thing that shifted mine, after a couple of years of pain, was the laser.
Helped my DM shift hers recently by never going bare foot, and having all shoes strapped to her feet. No flip flops or sliders.

FirkleingFree · 23/04/2023 21:41

Oh, and taping with kinesiology tape was a real relief when it got too bad. You may need a physio to show you how to tape it.

backinthefog · 23/04/2023 21:48

Stretching my glute muscles really helped me.

Also some off the shelf (sport) trainer insoles that helped support my foot arch helped once it started getting better and I started moving around again.

bizzey · 23/04/2023 21:49

OP thank you for this thread ...though I am sorry that you had to due to pain .

I don't know if I have full PF ...but my feet hurt to walk .

I am always bare foot/socks indoors apart from the kitchen which has cold floors !
I wear crocs in the kitchen.

Can anyone suggest what they wear indoors as slippers ?

stardust777 · 23/04/2023 21:49

I did these exercises every morning (just after waking up) for five months and it made a massive difference:

I started seeing results once I hit the three month mark.

Thewickerwomen · 23/04/2023 21:54

Picking up a tissue with the sole of your foot.

stretching the calf, hamstring and flutes (I use my Pilates magic circle).

mine also disappeared one day. I hope yours does, too.

bizzey · 23/04/2023 21:54

@stardust777 that's really helpful.
Did you build up to the 30 repetitions ?

I can see myself getting cramp to start with !

Twinnedpeaks · 23/04/2023 21:58

I've had this for over a decade and sketchers makes mine much much worse. Bliss on my feet when wearing but the next day I can barely walk.

JeepersCreeperrs · 23/04/2023 21:59

I just wore shoe inserts and fitflops, fixed itself in the end but took months and months.

stardust777 · 23/04/2023 22:01

@bizzey I went straight in. As time went on, I did speed up though!

thatsn0tmyname · 23/04/2023 22:05

I bought gel inserts for my work shoes. However, I now realise the inserts are making both feel roll out which is affecting my posture so my outer foot, knee and hip are sore. I've taken the inserts out after a year to see if the pain improves.

Cherrysherbet · 23/04/2023 22:10

Sketchers archfit walking boots.
gel arch supports from Amazon.
Never wear flat shoes or walk on hard floor with no shoes on, ever!
