Positive colonoscopy and bowel cancer stories

First time post.
I have been referred for colonoscopy with the 2 week pathway. I found blood on wiping and been suffering tummy ache and trapped wind.
My fit test and “inflammation’ stool test came back as abnormal, with very scores.
I’m absolutely terrified of it being cancer. I’ve had constipation for past few years after having ibs for many years previously.
I’m 51 and just looking for some positive stories while I wait for colonoscopy. Has anyone any experience in this area? Many thanks.

My FIT was over 400 - turned out to be mild ulcerative colitis

Thanks for replying. Did you have any symptoms? I don't have any. I was just doing a test.

I came looking for this subject. I have to have a colonoscopy this week. I'm reading about your FIT scores and they all seem really low compared to mine which is >200. Says blood was detected at a concentration of >200 ugHb/g.

Anyone else have this high a number?

I don’t have a high test score as such as not done a test. But lots of blood so fairly obvious something is wrong.

No I didn't have any symptoms until one day I started passing mucus and then maroon colour stools. No real pain apart from a gurgling discomfort just before I needed the loo. I'm in my early 60's so was convinced I had colon cancer. I lost weight and was consumed with anxiety. I was referred on the 2 week cancer wait and had chest/abdo/pelvic CT scan and. Colonoscopy within 2 weeks. They told me I didn't have cancer before I went home.

I’m well. Due a monitoring scan next week. It’s 3 years since I was diagnosed. How are you?

That’s amazing, pleased for you. I’m okay thanks, having some strange symptoms, so I’ve been researching and came across your thread. Lots of blood in the loo, mucus and strange abdominal discomfort.
I am actually a cancer nurse, but specialise in blood cancers.
I guess I should go to the GP.
