Drink lots of water. Mine always starts when I'm dehydrated.

DuncanBiscuits · 30/12/2022 23:11

Cannabis oil

Palomabalom · 30/12/2022 23:11

Magnesium spray. Massager

loubieloo4 · 30/12/2022 23:11

Magnesium tablets have been a life changer for me. I have them on a subscription from Amazon!

DuncanBiscuits · 30/12/2022 23:12

Codeine, too.

It’s miserable.

Giving up alcohol helped massively, plus HRT.

EhCarlos · 30/12/2022 23:14

Iron supplements helped mine.

Dotcheck · 30/12/2022 23:15

Magnesium

OneFrenchEgg · 30/12/2022 23:16

Iron supplements and miraculously HRT

noblegiraffe · 30/12/2022 23:17

Get a blood test. It was low iron causing it for me. Heavy duty iron tablets fixed it.

Greensleevevssnotnose · 30/12/2022 23:18

Magnesium and not too much water as that depletes the magnesium in your body

TheMightyOak · 30/12/2022 23:21

Bowl of (fortified) cereal before bed every night. Guess it's the iron/zinc/magnesium/whatever in it.

Maraudingmarauders · 30/12/2022 23:23

Cold water on my feet is the only thing that gives me any peace. Sometimes some yoga/pilates style stretching

Doggydarling · 30/12/2022 23:36

Lidocaine patches. I've suffered restless legs and arms for decades, started in my teens and while I take oxycontin and oxynorm for other issues it's been lidocaine patches that allows me to sleep, my arms would be jerking, twitching, shooting out bolt straight and then curling back but a patch eases them and allows me to rest. HRT has lessened the episodes so it's worth trying, here in Ireland the patches are difficult to get prescribed but I think they can be got otc in the US so its worth checking out if your travelling or someone you know is.

SiobhanSharpe · 31/12/2022 00:00

Ropinirole or Gabapentin, prescription drugs from your GP.
Codeine
Diazepam.

AGreatUsername · 31/12/2022 00:18

Low iron was the cause for me too, 10 years of misery before I found out. Get your bloods checked.

GertrudeBell · 31/12/2022 00:21

Magnesium

… and if you don’t have any magnesium to hand, an orgasm sorts it out straight away.

BMrs · 31/12/2022 00:41

I've just started taking 210mg ferrous fumerate (iron) tablets plus vit c (to help iron absorb) for another issue around hair loss as had a blood test and had low ferritin levels. Ferritin levels were 42, should be 150. And it's masi key helped my restless legs. I googled if ferritin levels and restless legs were linked and it is! I've stopped taking medication for it and symptoms and minimal now.

MissBattleaxe · 31/12/2022 00:44

Put a bar of unwrapped soap in bed near your feet. I don't know the science but it works.

Potato28 · 31/12/2022 00:44

Speak to the doctor to have your bloods checked

Tonic water and a banana every day

dolor · 31/12/2022 00:54

How old are you?

Tauranga · 31/12/2022 00:56

Gertrude is correct!

CatsFreakingMeOut · 31/12/2022 01:09

Mine stopped pretty much as soon as I started taking Utrogestan as part of my HRT

coffeewithmilk · 31/12/2022 01:22

I got horrific restless legs when I was pregnant.
Things like eating a banana before bed helped, a glass of tonic water, magnesium powder before bed.
There's a Clarins cream called 'energising leg cream' for tired legs and it really helped. It makes your legs really cold and kind of takes that feeling away.
It's expensive but a little goes a long way

NannyGythaOgg · 31/12/2022 02:33

Another vote for Magnesium. And I have alfound support stockings help.

user375242 · 31/12/2022 02:36

Magnesium, it's best absorber through the skin so a spray or bath salts with added magnesium. You can usually get these at places like Home and Bargain. A weighted blanket can help too.
