Larger than a grape. Had it three days I'm in late pregnancy. It seems to have become slightly smaller but developed a white patch over night ?

Just to add it is so painful but less so this morning even though it's developed this patch ?

Mine looked like that and it wasn’t infected. Just thrombosed. The most painful thing ever. It took about three weeks to go down.

Haggisfish3 · 07/12/2022 09:15

But I did go to gp to get it checked just in case.

Hoppinggreen · 07/12/2022 09:16

You poor thing, I had one that popped out a couple of days before my due date and hurt like buggery until I got my Epidural.
I think you should get it checked to be safe

sammy98 · 07/12/2022 12:18

@Haggisfish3 @Hoppinggreen thanks both! How long did yours take to go?

It's horrid I have never had one before it's so painful and uncomfortable. The nurse I saw this morning said they can't become infected (I told her they can I have read it on the nhs) she told me to change creams and carry on doing what I'm doing. White patch just looks so strange to me!

Well DS is 14 now and mine is still with me on and off.
It doesn’t bother me these days, it’s probably just a skin tag now but we have a non aggression pact 😁

Haggisfish3 · 07/12/2022 13:32

Mine took about three weeks to go down. I still have a skin tag from it as well. They very rarely get infected.

Gurraun · 07/12/2022 17:26

You poor thing. DS2 gifted me 2 of them a few days before he was born. Never felt pain like it 😱 and never has an epidural been more welcome. It was much improved after he was delivered but I also paid for a private appointment with a cole-rectal surgeon who injected it with phenol oil a week after he was born and that resolved it.
it occasionally threatens to visit but I have no qualms in now stuffing it back in with a suppository and that wards it off.
Said child is now 9 and I adore him but by god he owes me! It certainly convinced me my family was complete!
The only thing that vaguely helped before he was born was warm salty baths, and biting down on a stick and shoving them back in (but they only stayed in a few hours). I took codeine on doctor’s advice and the hospital then filled me with lactulose to avoid constipation - let’s just say they gave me way too much - not fun post epidural!
Good luck and enjoy your baby.

Wow thanks ladies sounds like they are persistent. I'm getting worried now this is it today that does look infected to me even though the nurse told me they don't become infected. Not sure this is something I can go to the day assessment unit for as I'm very worried as to what these white/yellow patches are.

cataline · 08/12/2022 15:54

That looks very sore!

Yesthatismychildsigh · 08/12/2022 16:03

Oh my love that looks sore! I think it’s thrombosed. You need to get it seen to. There are local anaesthetics that can be prescribed. They gave me a fantastic one when I was waiting for mine to be operated on overnight. Try to see a doctor tonight, stress the agony you’re in.

sammy98 · 08/12/2022 16:06

@Yesthatismychildsigh I saw a doctor on Monday who told me it will go away after pregnancy. White patches started appearing Tuesday and I saw a nurse Wednesday who said they don't become infected and they can't do anything until I have the baby :( I'm so worried about the white area spreading on it. I don't know weather to go to the hospital maternity department

Bestcatmum · 08/12/2022 16:08

It doesn't look infected, it looks ulcerated. That what happens to exposed haemorrhoids and also prolapsed uteruses - I saw loads as a nurse.
The white bits are ulcers.
try and avoid rubbing with loo paper and use water instead to avoid infection.

grayhairdontcare · 08/12/2022 16:13

Honestly don't want to be disgusting But... with DD1 it was like I had a leg of lamb hanging out of my bum because the piles were so bad.
It was agony and took 3 weeks to feel normal.

Threadkillacilla · 08/12/2022 16:14

Don't wipe. Wash with a jug or get a lota jug from Amazon and put wet sanitary towels in the freez we it looks really painful 💐

bibbiddybobbidyboo · 08/12/2022 16:16

Get a peri bottle if you haven't already and use that to squirt yourself clean. Also very useful post birth.

Yesthatismychildsigh · 08/12/2022 16:23

Yes, get it seen again. You poor thing.

sammy98 · 08/12/2022 16:31

@Bestcatmum thanks. Should I stop using Germaline? Will Sudo help ? Really worried. How will I know if infected?

OP posts:
sammy98 · 08/12/2022 16:37

@grayhairdontcare they are terrible I never experienced these with my first! Did yours ever go like this or just stay red? I'm freaking out

OP posts:
grayhairdontcare · 08/12/2022 16:39

@sammy98 it looked like yours does.
It was so painful.
I used frozen pads.
Lots of washing.
Pile cream.
It was a slog but did eventually go.
I never had it with DD2.

Bestcatmum · 08/12/2022 16:43

sammy98 · 08/12/2022 16:31

@Bestcatmum thanks. Should I stop using Germaline? Will Sudo help ? Really worried. How will I know if infected?

They won't really make any difference because the ulcers are caused by rubbing. If its infected it will be red, hot and painful with lots of discharge.
Cold should shrink it a bit. Haemorrhoid cream is good.

mathanxiety · 08/12/2022 16:45

Don't pay any attention to them saying they can't do anything for you until after you've delivered.

You need to get that thing lanced. They can do local numbing and then clear it.

sammy98 · 08/12/2022 20:47

@grayhairdontcare thanks I was panicking about the white bits as it was just red originally. It has started appearing since using the creams strangely. I have put Sudo on tonight and it's given it more relief than the pile creams I have been using. May call docs tomorrow morning just to check

@mathanxiety I'll call the GP in the morning. It's driving me insane

Sameshitdifferentdayx · 09/12/2022 19:38

Hey love. Just wanted to know how you are and if you managed to speak to the GP today? It looks so sore, bless you x
