Are 5 foot 7 women usually skinny?

I am 5 foot 7 and have always struggled to keep weight on. I’m not at all meaning this as a humble brag at all. People say it’s a good problem to have but I disagree. I’ve always wanted to look bigger and I have always felt quite boyish and unfeminine and I’ve had several miscarriages for which sometimes I blame myself for wondering if I don’t have enough body fat.

I don’t have a huge drive for food so if I ate according to my appetite I’d be just over 8 stone.

At 30 I decided enough was enough and I was too skinny for my age and started eating 3 square meals a day and snacks between meals. I got to 9 stone, my highest weight ever which is a big achievement for me as it never usually stays on.

I don’t look much different though 😂. People still tell me “you’re too skinny” despite me now having a very healthy BMO. Still look skinny IMO versus slim. I have long arms and legs which accentuates this I think.

So for ladies around my height. Do you think it’s hard to not look lanky and skinny at this height or taller? At what weight do you think you stop looking lanky start looking normal?

Thank you

I’m 5ft 7in and a size 18 too. I’ve never been able to sustain anything below a 14. I think if we were to merge ourselves and average out we’d both be grand, OP.

Everyone’s different OP 🤷‍♀️ I’m naturally small framed, 5’10” and about 9.5 stone usually. If I eat can gain weight to a certain point (just over 10 stone) and then it just stops going on no matter what I eat. I never bring it up in real life because it sounds like a brag but it’s just a fact, same as me having brown hair or whatever. Just a natural variation of normal. I generally find a lot of beauty in most people regardless and weight isn’t something I particularly think about nor assign moral value to. There’s so much else that’s so much more important about a person.

I am exactly the same height as you and I am generally 9st 10lbs these days.

In my early 30s (5 years ago) I was 8st 12lbs but I looked gaunt and ill according to everyone who knew me!!

I suspect at 9st you do look quite thin, but we are so used to seeing overweight people these days that we don't know what normal looks like.

I am exactly the same height as you and I can't seem to weigh more than 8 stone. I am trying to eat 3 meals per day and snacking in between. Could you share how long did it take to go from 8 to 9 stone?

Have you not got eyes? 🤔

I’m about a millimetre under 5’ 7 and I am FAT.

I don’t think it’s particularly tall though; isn’t five foot six about average for a woman?

I'm 5ft 7 and over 14st. So no, not all women at 5ft 7 are skinny.

I would be happy with 12st at this stage. I'm very slim 10st 7. But not skinny.
