No - keep her home if you can

If she goes to school she will be absolutely knackered and even worse

Cuddle up on the sofa and watch telly tomorrow

hunkermunker · 20/01/2008 22:38

Er, no. Poor thing Hope she's better soon.

edam · 20/01/2008 22:39

No, of course not, she's ill, poor little thing. Hope she gets better soon (and you manage not to catch it).

Have you tried boiling a kettle in her room? Steam really helps if you can't sleep because of congestion.

RustyBear · 20/01/2008 22:40

Most schools ask you not to bring children in until at least 24 hours after they've been sick.

ineedapoo · 20/01/2008 22:40

no keep her at home

Twinklemegan · 20/01/2008 22:40

No, don't do it to her. She won't miss anything important enough to worry about.

SoupDragon · 20/01/2008 22:40

"has just been sick everywhere"

I'd keep her home for 24 hours for that alone. In fact at DSs school you have to keep them off for 24 hours after they've been sick.

ineedapoo · 20/01/2008 22:41

48 hours in ds nursey after any D or V

48 hours in ds nursey after any D or V

paramum · 20/01/2008 22:42

Same as everyone else. Hope she gets better soon

colditz · 20/01/2008 22:43

Hell no. The child is ill. Why would you send her to school?

questionpleasehelp · 20/01/2008 22:43

No - would get the duvet on the sofa and crack open the hot chocolate and DVD collection.

pinkbubble · 20/01/2008 22:43

I would certainly keep her off, chances are that her immune system is low and she would probably pick up something else too!

brimfull · 20/01/2008 22:44

Of course not!

BecauseImWorthIt · 20/01/2008 22:44

Definitely keep her at home.

Have a duvet day for both of you (assuming that you can?)

Twinklemegan · 20/01/2008 22:45

Actually I'm surprised you're asking the question. Are you one of those who'd struggle into work and infect everyone else?

calzone · 20/01/2008 22:47

poor thing

keep her in and have a Pyjama day watching DVDs!!

no way should she go in!

ineedapoo · 20/01/2008 22:49

I think the problem is we are made to feel guilty if they are off what with awards for a full terms attendance etc

Twinklemegan · 20/01/2008 22:51

Well that's a load of rubbish for a start. They started a similar thing at my old work (no sick leave in the year and you were entered in a prize draw to win £25 - whooppee). It's a terrible idea, because no one can help it if they're ill.

PeachesMcLean · 20/01/2008 22:55

It's so difficult when DS is ill and I find it tricky to take a day off work at the drop of a hat. Though if he's been sick I really wouldn't send him to school. I know if I've been sick it takes a while to recover.

Just have to say I agree with the prize thing about attendance. DS had a hospital appointment last term and so didn't get a certificate for full attendance. Like we had a choice and he was back in school before lunchtime.

ineedapoo · 20/01/2008 23:00

i agree really annoys me and it is often achild who has ben sent into school ill and infected the rest who wins it

Twinklemegan · 20/01/2008 23:01

I just hate the implication that children/people who take time off ill are somehow malingering.

PavlovtheCat · 20/01/2008 23:01

She is poorly, and whether DV is catching or not she should be at home with cuddles, and duvet.

Twinklemegan · 20/01/2008 23:03

Do they get pressurised into caring about such awards then? I always had at least one day off sick in a term - some people are just more susceptible than others. There was no such scheme at our school but I can't see I/my parents would have cared too hoots about it.

ineedapoo · 20/01/2008 23:05

DD is very competitive and was upset when she had one day after last term with a high temp
