poor you.....at least the doctor could tell you what it was there and then. Don't worry about work. At the end of the day, its better that you are well enough to work. I hope you feel better soon and the tablets start to work soon. {{{HUGS}}}

prufrock · 22/11/2004 11:42

Glad you got seen. And don't worry about what work say. You are ill - passing blood is a serious thing and you need to rest and get better.

LIZS · 22/11/2004 11:44

I'm glad the dr took you seriously and really hope you recover soon. Do you have a follow up appointment to get the results ? Take it easy in the meantime.

Glad Soupy was on hand to help you out.

Nutcracker · 22/11/2004 11:45

Hope you feel better soon Essbee

Marina · 22/11/2004 11:45

Essbee, hope you feel fully better very soon. No wonder you were worried, this sounds nasty. Glad the dr took you seriously.

Get well soon essbee xxx.

mishmish · 22/11/2004 11:53

take care esbee and rest as much as you can, so glad you went to the doctor. Get better soon x

lou33 · 22/11/2004 13:33

I'm wondering if it is colitis, mine started like that.

JanH · 22/11/2004 13:44

Well fingers crossed that first lot of antibiotics do the trick, essbee.

Have just remembered about you giving blood for the first time on Friday, that won't have helped with the light-headedness either - in fact tracking through that thread I came across KATG's post about her passing out afterwards due to low blood pressure - is yours very low, did they check?

Take it very very easy, make sure DS knows that you are really poorly and have to rest and he has to help!

could it be a fissure (sp?)?

lou33 · 22/11/2004 17:54

blood, mucus, sometime daiarrhoea being passed instead of normal bowel motions. Stomach cramps, rapid weight loss. Blood always looks much more in teh bowl than it actually is though, because of the water, so try not to worry too much.

essbee - glad you've been sorted and hope that you start to feel better soon x

jampot · 22/11/2004 18:03

a fissure is a small tear found in or on the anus (can be caused by chronic constipation (or the releasing thereof)

fio2 · 22/11/2004 18:05

they can be big though and internal too, apparently according to my auntie

MrsLevine · 22/11/2004 18:08

Essbee, the doctor has given you antibiotics which should clear it up. You will get the results of your tests next week, until then try and relax. They would have admitted you straight away if they thought you were in danger. Have a nice worm bath put your jamas on and have a lovely cup of tea. Yiu need to start taking proper care of yourself and worrying all the time cant be good for you.

SoupDragon · 22/11/2004 18:21

LOL @ "worm bath"

maomao · 22/11/2004 18:24

Oh essbee, I just saw this thread! It must have been so frightening for you. Glad that Soup Dragon was able to take you to the GP. Hope you are on the mend

essbee, only just seen this as I don't get on much. Sorry to hear about this. Try not to worry (easier said than done). You're braver than me - I'd have been on my way to A & E in a blind panic
