Does it go white when pressed a?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 11/02/2022 16:27

Shingles

DameMargaretofChalfont · 11/02/2022 16:27

Looks like ringworm.

CushionSpiral · 11/02/2022 16:28

Try your local pharmacy to see if they can help or sometimes they can signpost back to the GP and then easier to get an appointment

Viciouslybashed · 11/02/2022 16:28

I would also say ringworm.

breatheinskipthegym · 11/02/2022 16:29

Unlikely to be shingles since it is on both sides, shingles doesn’t usually cross the midline.

Pharmacists can identify some rashes/skin conditions and give some medications/creams.

Baileystruffle · 11/02/2022 16:30

Looks like pityriasis versicolor to me- a yeast infection that spreads. Google it on images- some look different but when I had it looked just like that. Clear up by washing in nizarol shampoo several days running

Woolandwonder · 11/02/2022 16:31

Did one patch appear before the rest? If so pityriasis rosea.. mine has just gone..eventually.

WaltzingToWalsingham · 11/02/2022 16:31

Discoid eczema?

cheektpara · 11/02/2022 16:42

Ringworm. Looks fungal?

TooTiredForAdventure · 11/02/2022 16:43

Does look fungal.

LuckyWithMyLot · 11/02/2022 16:44

Did she recently spend time with a kitten? Agree with PPs it looks fungal.

Embracelife · 11/02/2022 16:47

Can she send inage on e consult ?

Embracelife · 11/02/2022 16:47

econsult.net/nhs-patients

Embracelife · 11/02/2022 16:48

Just do the e consult . Marvellous service.

DaffodilDandilion · 11/02/2022 16:49

Agree with baileystruffle. If you have any head and shoulders around try treating it by leaving some of that on for a few minutes and rinsing off

AnotherMansCause · 11/02/2022 16:50

It does look fungal TBH. Can she get to see a pharmacist? When did it appear, is it itchy or tingly, does she have any other symptoms, does it disappear when pressed? Is it anywhere else?

Teenylittlefella · 11/02/2022 16:56

Pityriasis rosea. Did she have one spot first? That's the herald spot. It goes away after a couple of months. Not itchy or anything, not dangerous.

lady725516 · 11/02/2022 18:10

Looks like ringworm. A pharmacist can advise her on the correct treatment to use

Woolandwonder · 11/02/2022 18:31

I keep trying to upload a picture but it keeps failing. It looks exactly like my pityriasis rosea when it started. It spreads.. a lot. Mine was incredibly itchy but it isn't usually but it's non infectious and goes within 2-3 months.

ScreamingBeans · 11/02/2022 19:53

It's very itchy apparently

Discoid eczema is very itchy Smile
www.nhs.uk/conditions/discoid-eczema/
I treat mine by dabbing a bit of Diprobase Eczema cream on each day, after my shower. It disappears within a few days (but comes back if I stop using the cream).

Everly18 · 11/02/2022 22:51

This looks very much like pityriasis rosea. Does she have any of the rash on her arms and legs or face? Pityriasis rosea doesn't usually come up on those areas.

ScreamingBeans · 12/02/2022 20:22

It started on her chest and seems to be spreading to her neck and she has a bit of red on her face now and a couple of bits on her shoulder.

Tell her to take an antihistamine and speak to a pharmacist on Monday. They'll know what it is.
