Horrible brown strains on and between teeth :(

I wore braces when I was younger but they didn't fully straighten my teeth.
My bottom teeth as very crooked and not straight, meaning it's always been harder to clean between them. I also drink a lot of tea (no red wine or other drinks that might stain though).
I'm tried everything... coconut oil, baking soda, tumerics and even a descaler that I bought online.
The staining just won't go and it's getting me really down... People stare at those teeth then they're speaking to me. Can anyone recommend anything? I don't smoke btw and eat healthy.

Go and get them cleaned by a hygienist

EIIa · 01/09/2021 21:46

Hydrogen peroxide
9% - dilute If needed
Swish in shower

I do it for 3 mins and started for gin disease a few years ago. It my teeth are so white

SophiesMummySaid · 01/09/2021 21:47

Professional cleaning by dental professionals, possibly followed by whitening

Querty123456 · 01/09/2021 22:07

What toothpaste do you use? If I use corsodyl toothpaste I get this. The hygienist can clean it off though.

See the hygienist regularly and ask what they recommend

MimiDaisy11 · 01/09/2021 22:13

I also have some staining from tea but I just don’t want to give up drinking it and couldn’t bare to drink it through a straw 😂

If it’s getting you down then try whitening toothpaste and for a stronger result you can pay for whitening. Giving up tea would also help if it bothers you that much.

TigersandTeddybears · 01/09/2021 22:13

Hygienist, maybe a course of whitening too or a good whitening toothpaste depending on the efficacy of your scale and polish. Nothing beats a professional clean for those kinds of stains

dizzydizzydizzy · 02/09/2021 05:45

See a dentist or hygienist. I get my teeth cleaned every time I see the dentist for a checkup.

Cocogreen · 02/09/2021 05:49

It's the tea and you need six monthly cleaning by the hygienist.

silentpool · 02/09/2021 05:49

Hygienist twice a year and get a Sonicare toothbrush to maintain.

Sleepthief · 02/09/2021 06:21

You don't use Corsodyl mouthwash, by any chance? I used it for a while and got terrible staining between my teeth, which went when I stopped using it!

alwayswrighty · 02/09/2021 06:33

I get the same. I use activated charcol for brushing which does wonders. I've tried multiple times to get in with a hygienist but all dentists are full here.

Athrawes · 02/09/2021 06:49

Hygienist will get rid of the staining. It feels and looks great. You will feel better.

FindingMeno · 02/09/2021 06:54

Tepe brushes and hygienist.

motheroreily · 02/09/2021 06:59

Definitely see a hygienist. I have overcrowding on my bottom teeth and teeth overlap
But the hygienist has really helped

Lanique · 02/09/2021 07:39

My hygienist has a swish new machine that basically jet washes your teeth. I came out the other day with whiter teeth than ever, all brown staining gone including a really stubborn one. I'm having them whitened some time next year after my braces are removed to match the new veneers I'll be getting. But I'll be keeping it up with six monthly visits to hygienist. I also use a good electric toothbrush and whitening toothpaste.

Bobmonkfish · 02/09/2021 07:48

Hygienist!

Window1 · 02/09/2021 07:49

@Bobmonkfish

Hygienist!

I've never been to a hygienist so don't really know where to start. My own dentist I guess. Is it usually the same place?

Any range of costs if it's NHS dentist?

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 02/09/2021 07:51

Every dentist ive ever been to has a hygienist.
Book in aand get them cleaned.
Everyone in our house goes every 6 months

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 02/09/2021 07:53

They are all private (i think).
Its about 40/50-80 depending

Mine in London is 65

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 02/09/2021 07:53

I go to the hygienist every 3 months, the older you get the more important it is to avoid gum disease and staining. Well I did go every 3 months before covid anyway.

loveacupoftea18 · 02/09/2021 07:53

@EIIa where do you find hydrogen peroxide if you are in the UK? I used to use in US but cannot find here!

HDready · 02/09/2021 07:54

I was also going to ask about corsodyl, I had bad staining from using it and a hygienist removed it all first session.

PurpleDaisies · 02/09/2021 07:55

Have you been to a dentist/hygienist about this?
