I had similar on my leg, was a horsefly bite, had to take double dose antihistamines for a week and oral antibiotics for 5 days. Gp said he had seen dozens locally

shapes1 · 14/08/2021 21:00

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor it's not at all sore

OP posts:
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 14/08/2021 21:17

Well that's a small mercy! Grin

shapes1 · 14/08/2021 21:51

It's weird cos everyone in real life says it looks like it's healing but on here I'm hearing the opposite

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 16/08/2021 19:45

How are you OP?

QuarantineQueen · 16/08/2021 19:49

It's good you're getting it checked but for some reassurance whilst you are waiting, i have allergic reactions to some insect bites that look just like that (without being infected). So hopefully it will just be something like that. Flowers

Kittii · 16/08/2021 19:52

Hope it goes well tomorrow.

shapes1 · 18/08/2021 13:10

Hi all thanks for checking in on me. So went to breast clinic yesterday the doctor said he thinks it's nothing serious, he gave a medical term but I can't be certain what it is now as it was long and hard to remember lol but basically it's quite common and sometimes does just randomly happen for no reason. He's referring me to skin clinic for them to do W biopsy just to be certain but he didn't seem worried

Kittii · 18/08/2021 13:49

That's good news, thanks for updating.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 19/08/2021 00:34

Brilliant news, phew! So not a spot at all?

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 19/08/2021 00:46

I have similar, and get them regularly. They're cysts...yours looks like it's burst. Google breast cysts...they're very common, especially if you're heading towards menopause. And totally benign. Obviously, I'm not a medical expert, and only going on my own experience

shapes1 · 19/08/2021 21:46

@Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername I'm only 37!! So doubt it's menopause lol

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I guess I'll find out more once I get my appointment to the dermatologist

OP posts:
needynelly56 · 20/08/2021 23:37

Did you find out what it was?

shapes1 · 21/08/2021 19:38

@needynelly56 no. I'm waiting for referral to dermatologist now

OP posts:
MariaAngustias · 21/08/2021 19:50

It is infected - you need to see a Dr to have it checked and get antibiotics.

MariaAngustias · 21/08/2021 19:51

Oh ignore my last message - I have seen you have Derm referral!

shapes1 · 10/09/2021 15:14

Back for an update so have a dermatologist appointment on Monday at 3 so here's hoping I get some answers then

Altho I did just read back my letter from the breast clinic doctor who said it looks like a rodent ulcer - which when I typed into google said a type of skin cancer. A very treatable and non serious type but cancer nonetheless

OP posts:
Mindymomo · 10/09/2021 15:34

Looks like it’s easily treated with removal under local anaesthetic. It sounds very common although I’ve never heard of rodent ulcer. Good luck.

JuneOsborne · 10/09/2021 15:37

Gosh. That's a scary way to find out it could be cancer. Rather naughty of the doctor not to have been more explicit.

Hopefully the skin clinic will be more helpful.

How are you generally? Have you told anyone in real life that it could be cancerous?

Hope you're ok.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/09/2021 15:39

Hi OP, hope all goes well on Monday.

shapes1 · 10/09/2021 15:46

Thanks everyone will keep u posted

Have told my family it could be non serious. Hubby doesn't actually sound too concerned as he says if it's easily treatable then no need to panic but I would still rather some compassion. Then again he may be different on Monday after I go and see what actually happens as this is all just speculation on what the breast doctor thinks it is but he could be wrong

OP posts:
shapes1 · 10/09/2021 16:00

Cancerous not non serious
