Oh my goodness how awful, please make sure you follow up with the report if you don't hear anything. He can't be allowed to get away with that.
I hope you heal well Flowers

@MooseBeTimeForSummer

Holy crap. His mother doesn’t want you reporting it as she knows exactly how deep in the shit he’s just put himself. What is your housing situation - are you in social housing?
Yes, it's a block of flats.

@musicalfrog

Is he a child OP? Is that why you hesitated and why his mother is involved?

I'm glad you reported, I hope you feel better soon.

He's late teens/early 20's.

Am at hospital now for panaromic x-ray and to see surgeon, mouth is wrecking after shaving(other half is delighted I'm now clean-shaven...) and I have at least one beautiful bruise. Will use this as a support thread if nobody minds.

Hope your recovery goes well. You MUST phone the police. It's a serious assault.

💓 I'm currently about to get morphine the pain is so bad (normal Dr sent me to A&E for some as I'm in agony and Senior is still in surgery).

Thanks for taking the time 🙂

My cousin broke his jaw in a car crash, my auntie blended everything from Sunday dinners to Christmas pudding, get some jumbo wide bore straws. He had to have milkshakes made up with double cream because he couldn't get enough calories down him to maintain his weight.

WhipperSnapperSteve · 08/06/2021 20:39

Am finally home,recovery starts now, follow-up in a fortnight.

Sorry to hear this OP

I had jaw surgery a few years ago due to an overtime I had my top jaw operated on and also needed surgery on my chin as when everything rotated my chin would have been out of proportion.

After surgery my jaw was kept shut with elastics for 4 weeks so only allowed liquid diet and used a syringe.

After that I was allow to take the elastics off just for eating but could only have soft foods for a few more weeks.

It was a long healing process but definitely worth it and I would go through it again!

Best of luck OP 🤞

MinnieJackson · 08/06/2021 22:23

That's horrific! So sorry Steve. Now you're at home is he still next door?

allypally999 · 09/06/2021 11:52

Sounds awful and glad you are reporting it.

I haven't had jaw surgery just tongue surgery (3 weeks recovery) so only advice I have is get lots of soup, yoghurt, smoothies and the like in - basically anything you can sook up a straw (the straws help too trust me).

Similar to this, had jaw surgery 12 years ago after orthodontics. Jaw was wired shut for 4 weeks...

I pretty much lived off smoothies, baked beans and scrambled eggs and soup for that time.

Painkillers are definitely your friend (although I am allergic / sensitive to codeine and they tried to give me it 2 days after surgery in hospital - trying to get the message across to the doctor that it makes me projectile vomit profusely wasn't easy with my jaw wired shut)

Hope the pain eases soon and please escalate the incident with the police when you are able to. He shouldn't be able to get away with it!
