Lesion on liver...hand hold please

Went for a scan in relation to suspected gallstones, but they have found a large lesion on my liver. I'm being referred for more tests via the two-week cancer pathway. I'm so, so scared. Trying to stay strong for my family and not to assume the worst, but can't seem to stop my mind from going there. My daughter is only 15 and she still needs me.

The wait is always worst, we are expecting a call tomorrow afternoon to see if my husband is a suitable candidate for a new treatment we know there is a 50:50 chance his tumour is suitable but I am erring on the side of 'Sorry no'. I hope you hear soon.

paralysedbyinertia · 24/05/2021 11:53

Thank you @bloodywhitecat. I hope it will be good news for your husband tomorrow.Flowers

Keeping my fingers crossed for good news from the phone call x

paralysedbyinertia · 24/05/2021 11:57

Thank you. I don't feel at all strong right now. Sad I can cope with the outcome for myself, whatever it turns out to be, but I cannot face the thought of putting my family through this. Especially my dd.

Hello,
My mum had a scare like this a few years back. She had a chest xray for something unrelated but it just showed the top of her liver with a lesion. They scanned the rest of her and decided that as they couldn't see anything anywhere else it was probably primary liver cancer. After a couple of weeks of terror, a biopsy and blood tests showed that the lesion was completely benign and nothing to worry about. It was all so so stressful but apparently liver lesions are very common! Fingers crossed for good news for you x

Callywalls · 24/05/2021 12:04

Handhold from me, stay strong xx

jessycake · 24/05/2021 12:04

My daughter had this too , and it was nothing sinister. I think since MRIs they are seeing them and have to get them investigated .Fingers crossed it the same with you x

Sweetpeasaremadeofcheese · 24/05/2021 12:13

They saw a couple of lesions in my liver on an ultrasound with DS. They did actually grow a bit as the pregnancy progressed but turned out to be hemangiomas. Have a reassuring handhold from me xo

TheseAreTheTimea · 24/05/2021 12:16

The wait is absolutely the worse, hold hold here. Did they say when they would call you? X

paralysedbyinertia · 24/05/2021 12:17

Thank you for all of the positive stories. I hope I will be able to add to them, but my mind keeps jumping to the worst case scenario.

As a cancer survivor, I get your anxiety. I’m in remission but have 6 monthly blood tests and scans.
I don’t think it will ever get easier.
Holding your hands tight x x

Archiduchesse · 24/05/2021 12:26

Hope your GP doesn't keep you waiting too much longer and you get positive news.

paralysedbyinertia · 24/05/2021 12:37

Thank you. I'm glad that you are in remission, @Borntobeamum. Long may it remain that way!

The doctor called. Nothing to worry about on the blood tests, except for the fact that they think I might be slightly anaemic! Kidney and liver function appear to be normal. Phew!

Now I just have to wait for the results of the MRI scan. Fingers crossed!

Thank you everyone for your support.

Ah thank goodness it’s good news! I hope the GP reassured you Smile

paralysedbyinertia · 24/05/2021 13:50

Thank you @Thisisjaaam, it was such a relief that they hadn't found anything awful. The GP was lovely! Obviously, I'm not in the clear until we have the results of the MRI scan, but I'm feeling a bit more optimistic now!
