Inner bum cheek distress

Dreamer1989 · 26/04/2021 18:26

Yes this is awful, thank you for reading!
My inner bum cheeks rub together when I walk, and I walk a lot atm - and this causes bleeding. Its worse when I sweat, as I think this makes it easier for the cheeks to rub and therefore bleed. Is there anything I can do? Put a tissue between my cheeks? I am mortified even asking this.

Anti chafing gel?

Iwouldbecomplex · 26/04/2021 18:32

This sounds grim, I couldn't not read it after that title!! I I'm not sure if there's a product for this exact problem, but my husband has problems with his thighs chaffing when he walks and uses something called body glide anti chafing stick that he gets on Amazon and says is really good. Maybe you could use that? Or if they're chafing because you're sweaty you could just put a good anti perspirant between them. Or both?!

NuzzleandScratch · 26/04/2021 18:34

I may be off the mark here, but you can get psoriasis in that area, which can lead to bleeding. I know you prob don't want to show your GP, but just thought it worth mentioning.

WooYa · 26/04/2021 18:34

Asda do a liquid talc that may help, it helps with my thighs

Daisymclazy · 26/04/2021 19:10

What an amazingly delicate yet expressive thread title. Sorry I have no expert advice but could it be piles?

mama3bears · 26/04/2021 19:14

Talcum powder or Asda's little angels liquid talc should help

Dreamer1989 · 26/04/2021 19:16

Thank you! Its definitely not piles. I am going to order the liquid talc now. Does anyone think putting a tissue in between would help, or cause more frictionv?

My husband had this after his marathon! Sweat and rub = nappy rash.

I don’t think tissue will work, it’ll just come out.

You need to keep the area clean and dry, maybe use a nappy rash cream when it’s really sore, plenty of air to the area.

Are you wearing 100% cotton undies? Maybe wear a skirt?

dudsville · 26/04/2021 19:20

While you wait to try the ointments, a tissue would dissolve. A piece of cotton cloth?

Monsteraobliqua · 26/04/2021 19:23

Came for the title, stayed to say that antiperspirant works a treat on thighs that chafe, could be worth a go on the region in question. Possibly a gel version like mitchum?

Billythecandlestickmaker · 26/04/2021 19:26

A call to drs or a pharmacy for advice
(Not being horrible here, just my initial reaction).
You must be awfully uncomfortable and I very much doubt the only person with this problem.
Prehaps something like lots of air and sudocreme at night ?
Not much help, I know, but honestly, I think a call to GP or a visit to pharmacy is in order here.

Mintlegs · 26/04/2021 19:26

Sudocrem or metanium!

Billythecandlestickmaker · 26/04/2021 19:27

Plus, only wearing cotton underwear? And "airing out" where possible eg. At home/in bed

Dreamer1989 · 26/04/2021 19:29

I use moisture wicking underwear, or period pants when exercising to make sure the sweat/blood is soaked up. Its miserable, I am so grateful for you all replying.

Surely a tissue would just roll up into little balls.

ChubbyBroccoli · 26/04/2021 19:31

Perhaps try chamois cream, as used by cyclists (e.g. Udderly Smooth).

Bul21ia · 26/04/2021 19:35

Tissue will be no good OP. You would need something like gores.

To be honest you need to see a doctor so they can examine you I expect it’s awkward for you to see yourself properly. Plus there must be a cause? How long have you had this issue?.

BrimFullOfAsher · 26/04/2021 19:37

I think you definitely need to see a doctor OP, really sorry.

But you should have it checked and make sure there isn't anything more to it. You may have an infected are that is preventing healing, anything. Definitely get it checked.

And definitely no to the tissue. It will just breakdown and make it worse

SavannahLands · 26/04/2021 19:38

Conatraine (Sp?) creme, brilliant stuff specially designed to tackle areas of the body that become inflamed or infected by friction and / or Perspiration. It contains anti fungal and antiseptic medication, l used it for my Thighs, and it cleared the sore red skin up and healed it very quickly. Also protects against sweat rash. Available online or from most large pharmacies, l found it actually better than Sudocreme which dried out quickly once applied.

LubaLuca · 26/04/2021 19:39

I wouldn't put tissue or antiperspirant on broken skin. I'd probably apply Sudocrem or Savlon cream overnight, no pants or pyjama bottoms in bed. Dry yourself with a hairdryer after washing to make sure there's no clamminess. Only wear cotton underwear.

MillyMoo1113 · 26/04/2021 19:44

I've had this, it is a type of psoriasis. You need to see a doctor, the cream works wonders.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 26/04/2021 20:01

Trust me, they're happy to take your word for it.

Steroid ointment, big cotton knickers, showering morning and night then patting dry, not rubbing, and sleeping without any underwear/wearing a nightdress helps it heal quickly.

Botox!

I came to say psoriasis too. I have it in all sorts of places and it's horrid. Look up genital psoriasis and see if it fits.
