Inner bum cheek distress

Dreamer1989 · 26/04/2021 18:26

Yes this is awful, thank you for reading!
My inner bum cheeks rub together when I walk, and I walk a lot atm - and this causes bleeding. Its worse when I sweat, as I think this makes it easier for the cheeks to rub and therefore bleed. Is there anything I can do? Put a tissue between my cheeks? I am mortified even asking this.

Could be a fungal problem? If it is, get the right daktarin for jock itch.

But really a GP needs to diagnose and prescribe. Bite the bullet and ring then tomorrow. Flowers because it sounds awful for you, you poor thing.

Metanium )the yellow one) would help...I feel your pain.

Eggnoggoanngoanngoann · 26/04/2021 22:23

Try reading reviews for vagisil medicated cream. Suitable for intimate areas. Has an anaesthetic so will ease pain and helps heal itchy areas.

Body Glide - sold for long distance runners, fab product

Otherwise Vaseline or liquid talc

And nappy rash cream for when area needs soothing

winniesanderson · 26/04/2021 22:46

I bet the yellow metanium would clear it up quickly.

The nurse will be helpful more than GP I suspect. Phone them tomorrow

rainbowthoughts · 26/04/2021 23:02

I would recommend finding out what it is before treating it with any of the suggestions in this thread.

I’ve had this same complaint. I have what you might diplomatically describe as a generous bottom! In my case, my underwear and outer clothing were too snug and not breathable enough.

For relief of the rubbed area, apply Sudocrem and get air to it. To prevent it in future, wear breathable cotton underwear and don’t wear outer clothing which is too snug and is either synthetic or not specifically wicking/breathable.

Compression tights are the most likely candidates to cause this in my experience. I tend to avoid them now.

Nat6999 · 26/04/2021 23:26

I have the same problem under my boobs, the only thing that worked for me was daktarin cream to heal up the soreness & then Mitchum gel antiperspirant mixed with sudocrem once it had healed up, don't use soap it makes it worse, use E45 wash.

Wash the area as often as you can, and apply Vaseline. It could be intertrigo, which is the thing you can get under breasts. Vaseline will heal and prevent chafing. If you can get to it before the skin is broken, apply Canestan, because intertrigo is a fungal infection.

I get nappy rash type rash from sweating if i do a really long run so use vaseline or sudacrem beforehand. I've had a really bad skin irritation a couple of times though which I persisted with being itchy and sore thinking it was just something that would go away but eventually had to go to the GP and they took swaps which turned out to be a strep skin infection and it clearer up with antibiotics.

emmathedilemma · 27/04/2021 10:21

swabs not swaps! A=

Dreamer1989 · 27/04/2021 16:44

Ordered the liquid talc and Lanacane gel. I actually had a look myself, no obvious skin breakage or rash. Isnt life great...
