Don't you just hate vomit bugs?!

They are just the pits!

DS1 came down with one last night, and he tends to fight it so never gets to an appropriate place. Last night he threw up over the side of his top bunk, and covered the majority of his bedroom with vomit.

I had invited my new man round for the evening.
Both boys were fast asleep & all was going swimmingly, then DS1 woke up telling me he felt sick.
I got him a towel to lay on, but he sat up, lent over his bed & threw up over the side, covering most of the room in vomit!

I have spent hours washing sheets (he covered both his & DS2's), duvets, pillow cases, teddies, toys, towels, and scrubbing the carpet, beds, toys, bedside table etc!

I have a horrible feeling that the second I have finished washing everything, the experience will be repeated with DS2!

so sorry, that sounds awful, poor you xx

Pinkchampagne · 03/11/2007 14:17

It wasn't good.

DS seems much better today, but is quite floppy, so I can't get out of the house with him, and DS2 is bouncing from the ceiling.

I am very very tired!

Poor you!!Any chance someone can come and sit with the boys while you get out for a breather?

Sorry have posted twice doing that a lot these days apologies!!

Pinkchampagne · 03/11/2007 14:40

There isn't anyone really. I am on my own with the boys, and their dad is working all day today.

I would just like for someone to take DS2 out for me because I really think he needs it. He is very loud & hyper today, and I can't take him out anywhere.
I hinted to mum, but she hasn't come round.

Poor you, bet that put paid to your romantic evening.

I had a pupil at my class on Tuesday (I teach at home) and when they were going the mum said, "I just do not know what is wrong with V today, she was sick yesterday and then again this morning". Why the hell did she bring her to class??? I was sooo particularly when I spent the best part of Thursday hanging over the toilet.

frazzledbutcalm · 03/11/2007 14:47

I just hate vomit bugs. Last year dc2 got one, then my mum (who'd come to help me) got it within minutes of being in my house! That night dc3 got it, few hours later dc4 got it. Within 10 hours me, hubby and all four kids had sick bowls by our beds and were taking turns on our two loos!! It was just the worst! I dread sick bugs now!

Pinkchampagne · 03/11/2007 14:55

How awful, FBC! I have a horrible feeling this is going to spread through our house in no time - stomach bugs have a horrible habit of doing that, don't they?

Kindersurprise - I can't believe that mother sent her daughter to you when she had been sick! That's awful!

I wish I had someone here to help out. DS1 is floppy, and DS2 is hyper & annoying him. I have tried to encourage him to go in the garden, but he refuses!

A few children from my ds's pre-school were sent home on Thursday. Low and behold dd woke up early hours of Friday morning with it. Hoping the bug has skipped DS, thought it a bit weird that dd got it - she had it coming from both ends. Hope your little ones gets better soon, think it lasts about 12 hours.

It did kind of kill the romantic evening!

He hasn't met my boys yet, so I made sure they were fast asleep before he came round, but all went very wrong!

He has no children of his own, but offered to help out which was very sweet of him. Their dad would never help with vomit!

naughtynoonoo · 03/11/2007 14:59

Your new man must be keen if he managed to help out

Pinkchampagne · 03/11/2007 14:59

I have the same fear, KerryMum, as I am on my own, and it is near impossible to function as normal with a stomach bug, isn't it?

OP posts:
Pinkchampagne · 03/11/2007 15:01

He offered, but I told him he was ok & that I would deal with the sick! I wouldn't expect him to deal with sicky sheets & children - I would probably never see him again!

oh much sympathies
we have it here too
dd threw up after her bedtime bottle all over dh at 7pm
at 11pm ds woke up screaming, had been sick in his sleep - all in his hair, really horrid, had to go straight in the shower

Pinkchampagne · 03/11/2007 15:16

Horrible isn't it, dooley?

My DS still seems very floppy & unwell. He has been curled up on the sofa all day watching TV, but fingers crossed the vomiting seems to have stopped.

KerryMum - that must have been just awful!

DD1 woke up being sick Friday morning (about midnight) as you said over everything comfort teddy the works, changed bed etc then she was sick again so I don't have any more sheets (note to self must get more) so she is in with us up every half hour being sick until theres nothing left but she's still getting up, DD2 is waking up crying too but no sick from her, DP is trying to help but getting irate that he's up at 6am for work. DD2 gets up in the morning projectile vomits all doen me get myself clean then DD1 does it, All better today thankfully but DD2 got the runs now it truly is the pits you have my sympathy.

Pinkchampagne · 03/11/2007 15:41

That sounds a total nightmare, sweetkitty!

DS1 has been in the same curled position on the sofa all day, poor little chap. I hate it when they are ill, and stomach bugs are just the pits.

I am very very tired. I wish there was someone to take over, just for half an hour.

I have just smashed a glass all over the kitchen floor too, so not having a great day at all.

Was meant to go out for a meal for mum's birthday, but don't want to leave DS.

Sounds pathetic, but I just want to cry!

totally agree, i have been up most of the night with the sick bowl, so far its just me affected but i feel rubbish today. dh thought i was mad in the middle of it last night, laying towels on the dc's beds and putting bowls down for them both, always best to be prepared. i was planning on giving them only white or pale coloured food (easier to clean up ) for now till i'm sure they aren't coming down with it too, but as dh is in charge today, despite me suggesting omlette for lunch, he gave them half a tin of ravioli each

Pinkchampagne · 03/11/2007 15:52

Poor you, lucykate. I hope your children escape it!

Very sensible sticking to pale coloured food! My DS's had been to their dad's and had pizza & chocolate pudding, which wasn't the best combination!

I am a bit fed up that mum hasn't been round to help out a bit. She said she might, but she hasn't.
I only wanted her to take DS2 out for a bit.

OP posts:
Pinkchampagne · 04/11/2007 00:32

Well I think it is definitely more than a 12 hour bug unfortunately, as poor DS was sick again early this evening.
Very strange that he had such long pauses between being sick. Hope it is over soon.

OP posts:
naughtynoonoo · 04/11/2007 08:08

Def not a 12 hour bug as I first thought and hoped. DD and DS both sspent the night vomitting. DS3 does not remember a thing thank god. Both are gagging for milk this morning, don't want to risk it, what should I do??? DD was sick during the night of Friday morning and was all clear until last night.
