I don't feel "right" but I cant put my finger on whats wrong

So this might seem a bit stupid really but it's been bothering me for a while.
Basically as the title says, I don't feel "right". However I can't actually pinpoint what is wrong. Its like a lot of little niggling things, but not enough for an individual thing to stand out as such.

To try and break it down a bit:
•I feel nauseous quite frequently. I've not eaten anything dodgy, I'm on the pill so not pregnant, I'm not anxious, I've not got any other symptoms of a bug. I've not actually vomited, just low level constant nausea.
•I'm tired a hell of a lot. I could genuinely fall asleep on the sofa most nights. My job isn't overly physical so it isnt that. I feel like I sleep OK, I've got decent sleep habits and keep to a consistent bed time and wake up time. I feel weary is probably the best way to put it.
•Headaches. Usually about one a day. I've recently had my eyes tested so not that. There doesn't seem to be a consistent trigger for them as far as I can tell.
•Mood swings. More obvious in the past week or so, however I am due my period soon so could be that. Never really suffered with pmt before though.
•Stomach ache. Dull ache in the bottom of my stomach. Most likely due to oncoming period I think.

Theres probably other bits too but I cant think of it now.
It all seems silly things, and not worth seeing a doctor, because like I said there's nothing "wrong". I just have this feeling that something isn't right and I can't put my finger on it.

Well, there is a chance you could be pregnant isn’t there?

LunaHardy · 30/07/2020 19:17

Sounds like me when I was in early pregnancy. I would be taking a test to rule it out if I felt like that.

Aquamarine1029 · 30/07/2020 19:18

How old are you?

Dancinggroot · 30/07/2020 19:19

I would think highly unlikely.
I'm due on in the next day or 2, haven't missed any pills (I'm pretty religious about taking them perfectly, don't want to risk a pregnancy at this time), and have felt pretty consistently the same for definitely a week every day, and on and off prior to that.
Not missed any periods.
Also don't have frequent sex which makes it more unlikely.

Food intolerance? I suffer if I eat gluten with symptoms like you’re describing. Do you suffer with IBS?

Gwynfluff · 30/07/2020 19:27

Any diarrhoea in last few months or stomach bugs?

Very similar to pregnancy and if you’ve been on pill you can have a light bleed monthly still, so could be several weeks on. So do think back to any episodes of illness over the last few weeks and months that could have caused the pill to fail, doesn’t have to be in last couple of weeks.

katieg03 · 30/07/2020 19:29

I'd ask for a blood test, sound alike low iron levels to me. I've suffered with it for over 10 years

Shouldbedoing · 30/07/2020 19:30

Carbon monoxide poisoning? Do you have a meter?

MrsMeg1 · 30/07/2020 19:31

Low ferritin? I had tiredness and headaches when mine was very low. feel loads better now after iron supplement. You’d need to request a blood test from GP

user1471462115 · 30/07/2020 19:43

Low vitamin D. Get that tested too

Chocolate4me · 30/07/2020 19:46

Hormone changes can make me feel like this just before my period, see if it eases off once your period is here

Dancinggroot · 30/07/2020 19:50

Fettuccinecarbonara I've had issues in my teens that were put down as IBS but nothing since. Could be a possibility as I am also slightly constipated. I also suffer with bad wind pains occasionally.

katie, mrsmeg &user do you think they would do random blood tests at the moment due to covid?

shouldbedoing would other people in my house be showing no symptoms? Don't think I have a monitor but it's a relatively new build so it probably does.

Coeliac?

Kitkat09 · 30/07/2020 20:04

Sounds like me. Low vitamin D. Very very low.

Couchbettato · 30/07/2020 20:12

Depression and anxiety?

louloubelx · 30/07/2020 20:26

I had all that whilst on the pill, and was pregnant. Might be worth getting a test just incase. Hope you feel better soon

Xiaoxiong · 30/07/2020 20:33

DH has all that, with bouts of stomach aches and spending ages on the loo and has diagnosed IBS. He has been on a low-FODMAP diet for a while which is helping loads, and seems also to be helping DS1 who didn't have issues anywhere near as bad but would complain about tiredness, headaches, stomach ache, gas and alternately constipation and loose bowels.

I would try an elimination diet and then add things back in - see how you feel. DH and DS1 both started feeling better within days. (DS2 and I have cast iron stomachs so felt no change!!) For them the triggers are definitely onion, possibly garlic, possibly lactose and wheat (but not gluten).

MissHemsworth · 30/07/2020 20:38

Any temperature OP? Could be an infection of some sort (bladder maybe?) How's your appetite?

Lockdownseperation · 30/07/2020 20:44

Constipation?
Anything else changed? Diet or exercise?
Are you drinking enough.

theconstantinoplegardener · 30/07/2020 20:46

These symptoms are all quite common and could be caused by lots of different conditions, but if you've had them for a while (weeks rather than days) then I think they warrant a blood test. GPs are doing investigative blood tests now - you just need to wear a mask, and the person who takes your blood will too.

DrCoconut · 30/07/2020 21:02

I've recently screened positive for coeliac after symptoms like this. I feel generally not ok and like something is making me ill, gluten most probably. I'm awaiting a hospital appointment now.

EggysMom · 30/07/2020 21:07

If there's a chance you could be pregnant (forget the pill, have you had sex?) then it costs very little to take a test and rule out that possibility. Now if you'd said there's no way you can be pregnant because you haven't had sex, then I'd be looking at food intolerances etc. But first, let's rule out pregnancy, yes?

Dancinggroot · 30/07/2020 21:18

I've had sex once since my last period. If my period doesn't come by Monday I will take a test to rule it out, however I'm as sure as I can be that I'm not pregnant.

couch I considered that as the symptoms do seem to link to anxiety, however i don't feel anxious. Occasional stress but not anything unusual I would say. Only if coming up to an important deadline. The symptoms are daily even when i have no anxiety and am very happy.

No temperature, no recent diet changes as such. Appetite wise variable. The past 3 days or so I've been extremely hungry and ate probably far too much food, however prior to that I had little appetite for a week or so, so ate little. This is relatively normal for me and it probably averages out. I eat plenty of veg, not so much fruit as I'm not a fan but I do have a decent diet. I'm slightly overweight, bmi 28 but my weight has been steady for around a year now. Was losing post baby weight prior to that.
I drink quite a lot of water, about 3 litres a day. Rarely drink alcohol. Don't smoke or anything like that.

I can't currently book doctors appointments or blood tests online, so I will give them a call tomorrow to see if they'll be able to do some for me.

Thank you all, I feel slightly less silly now. Its hard when you just don't feel right but can't put your finger on what it is because there's nothing specific to get checked out.

All those symptoms could be caused by the pill. I would try a different pill or contraception type and see if it helps.
