I don't feel "right" but I cant put my finger on whats wrong

So this might seem a bit stupid really but it's been bothering me for a while.
Basically as the title says, I don't feel "right". However I can't actually pinpoint what is wrong. Its like a lot of little niggling things, but not enough for an individual thing to stand out as such.

To try and break it down a bit:
•I feel nauseous quite frequently. I've not eaten anything dodgy, I'm on the pill so not pregnant, I'm not anxious, I've not got any other symptoms of a bug. I've not actually vomited, just low level constant nausea.
•I'm tired a hell of a lot. I could genuinely fall asleep on the sofa most nights. My job isn't overly physical so it isnt that. I feel like I sleep OK, I've got decent sleep habits and keep to a consistent bed time and wake up time. I feel weary is probably the best way to put it.
•Headaches. Usually about one a day. I've recently had my eyes tested so not that. There doesn't seem to be a consistent trigger for them as far as I can tell.
•Mood swings. More obvious in the past week or so, however I am due my period soon so could be that. Never really suffered with pmt before though.
•Stomach ache. Dull ache in the bottom of my stomach. Most likely due to oncoming period I think.

Theres probably other bits too but I cant think of it now.
It all seems silly things, and not worth seeing a doctor, because like I said there's nothing "wrong". I just have this feeling that something isn't right and I can't put my finger on it.

I would get your thyroid checked too - sounds similar to symptoms I had before I was medicated for an under active thyroid

It's very common for anxiety to present differently in people than typically expected. Some people feel anxiety physically, like mood swings, gastro issues etc, without the feeling of always being on edge.

Stress also causes these kinds of issues.

Perhaps give yourself the chance to sod everything off that's causing stress and see if your symptoms improve.

Hmm well when I was in my late 20s

Often felt weary but slept fitfully
Often hot
Struggled to maintain weight (but recovered anorexic)
Irregular periods
A need to eat otherwise hangry
Regular headaches
Frequent gastritis type discomfort

GP did a test for iron levels - fine so told me to moderate my lifestyle - ahem

Battled on trying to get lots of early night and there were peaks and troughs.
In 1990 my feet, ankles, legs swelled hugely.
Boss sent me to the company Dr - full Blood tests
Called within 24 hours to go straight to hospital - my thyroid was thrpugh the roof and was suspected to be affecting my heart - it wasn't.

Looking back I realised I also had a a slight tremor

Had tablets then a sub total thyrpidectomy.
My headaches stopped
The stomach issues stopped
My periods became regular
My weight stabilised

Get your thyroid checked op.

I spoke to my gp this morning and have just been in for some bloods. Will get the results early next week so hopefully some answers there.

Re the people suggesting pregnancy. My period hasn't started yet, I will test if it doesn't come by the morning. Will go out and get a test tonight on my way home from work.

@Dancinggroot Did your period arrive as expected?

Dancinggroot · 05/08/2020 07:40

Yup, just before I left work on Friday.
Got my blood results yesterday. Haemoglobin, ferritin and b12 levels normal. Still waiting on others.

I'm just so exhausted and feel so sick and don't know what to do anymore. I feel like i just need to stay in bed for a day but I cant.

Ask for a copy of your blood test results. GP's always say 'normal' when they mean in range. My Vit D was apparently 'normal' but at 26 it was only 1 point above the deficient range. I felt so much better once I supplemented and got it up to 70. The same goes for all your iron's. Levels can be 'in range' which may not be optimal for you. Can't hurt to double check!

Gwynfluff · 05/08/2020 20:28

I just routinely take vit d and iron now after being a little bit ‘low’ - feel much better for it.

But the allergens or autoimmune things are worth looking at

Healthquestion101 · 17/08/2020 12:57

Hello.... I felt just like you did and ate loads of blood tests I'm low iron and very low vit d. The nausea has gone now after months after taking Max Strength vit D (Boots) and perscription iron from docs.
