Have you tried deflatine tablets? They are a bit like gaviscon but contain demethicone for trapped wind

LouiseTrees · 14/04/2020 23:13

Gym ball or something and bizarre acrobatic moves like leaning over it backwards.

pancakesunday · 14/04/2020 23:16

Yeah bizarrely something like standing still then leaning side to side, then backwards and forwards usually dislodges it for me

littleeasterbonnet · 14/04/2020 23:30

Perhaps you should call your doctor's surgery tomorrow and ask for a telephone consultation. The sort of chest pain you describe needs to be checked out, and the trapped wind trouble might be masking another issue.
Hope you soon feel better.

Floexotic · 14/04/2020 23:32

I would have that checked by a dr.

heartpyjamas · 14/04/2020 23:39

Oh! I have this and I have IBS. Yoga positions can help a little. But, for me, it's always related to the food I have eaten- especially bread or pastry. Have you tried analysing what you have eaten to see if there is any correlation?

Harvey2016 · 15/04/2020 12:57

Yeh I’ve tried them but nothing all my chest is sore from there being so much trapped wind

You need to consult a doctor. It could be your heart.
Or even Covid19

Spied · 15/04/2020 13:00

I get this.
Hot water bottle and belly breathing sometimes dislodges it.
I also use Gaviscon Advance.

melissasummerfield · 15/04/2020 13:01

Also could be gallstones OP, thats what the pain feels like.

Try cutting out fatty food and see if you feel better

Harvey2016 · 15/04/2020 13:46

I thought with my stomach problems also that it might be the food but now I can’t eat with it so there must be more wind now becaurse my stomach is empty 😪 it goes for five then comes back with vengeance And it’s always worst in the nights x

Yoga

sneeuw · 15/04/2020 13:48

Could it be gallbladder issues? That pain can be severe and feel like very bad trapped wind.

littleeasterbonnet · 15/04/2020 13:48

Helicobacter pylori infection?

Harvey2016 · 15/04/2020 14:41

Deffinatly not covid 19 as I don’t have a temperature or I ain’t got a cough I’m seeing my doctor at 5:00 today hopefully get it sorted x

Sounds like gallbladder issues to be honest. Even though my gallbladder has been removed I get this. Maalox helps me as does drinking a lot of water.

Harvey2016 · 15/04/2020 19:08

Seen the doctor everybody and he put me on medication for anxiety and to calm me down and relax my muscles and medication for trapped wind I’m such an anxious person anyway and with eveything at the moment he thinks it’s been to much x thanks everyone I’ll give meds ago and see how I feel

OP posts:
GreyGardens88 · 15/04/2020 19:10

I didn't know there was a connection between anxiety and trapped wind? I suffer with terrible trapped wind and anxiety and wonder if that might be why

Harvey2016 · 15/04/2020 21:30

I’m so anxious all the time anything makes me worry 🤦‍♀️ It’s awful I’m on so many meds for it plus the IBS which courses wind and worry makes the IBS worse and with everything going on at the moment my nerves are shot , so I’m going to give these meds a go and hopfully they will work 🤞 x

Get on all fours, and get someone to use their hands to pull your tummy up from on top of you.... I actually called 999 as I thought I was having a heart attack when I was pregnant! I had never felt pain like it and I couldn't breath or move from the pain. I feel for you xxx

CrustyPatch · 16/04/2020 10:36

I have this and also have IBS. The only thing that helped was giving up milk, it seems I am lactose intolerant. I saw a dietitian and she guessed the culprit straight away

differentnameforthis · 16/04/2020 11:34

I recommend the low fodmap diet.

I had several bad flare ups last yr with mine, and have had barely any symptoms since being on the low fodmap diet.

Harvey2016 · 16/04/2020 14:14

What is the fodmap diet please x

OP posts:
differentnameforthis · 17/04/2020 14:36

FODMAPs are a group of sugars that are not completely digested or absorbed in our intestines. When FODMAPs reach the small intestine, they move slowly, attracting water. When they pass into the large intestine, FODMAPs are fermented by gut bacteria, producing gas as a result. The extra gas and water cause the intestinal wall to stretch and expand. Because people with IBS have a highly sensitive gut, ‘stretching’ the intestinal wall causes exaggerated sensations of pain and discomfort

Follow this link, www.monashfodmap.com/about-fodmap-and-ibs/ there is a huge amount of information about which foods they are in, and how to avoid them. You should eliminate all fodmaps to start with, then reintroduce to see which ones are your triggers. Not all fodmaps cause everyone issues.

Harvey2016 · 17/04/2020 18:12

Thankyou x
