TMI but any doctors about? Bleeding... help!

I do apologise about the tmi but about half an hour ago I passed wind and thought oh god that felt wet and went to the bathroom to find mucousy blood in my pants. I missed a pill this week (no I’m not pregnant) and thought I must be having a bleed from that as it’s cerazette so I don’t bleed. Had a quick shower to clean and put a sanitary towel on thinking I was going to bleed. I then get a bad stomach ache and rush to the toilet and had what I thought was diarrhoea... but all that was coming out was mucousy blood. Red blood.

Carried on with washing up, stomach ache and come back to toilet and opened my bowels this time to poo but covered in dark red blood very mucousy......

Should I be worried? No problems at all today other than very stressed about one of my dc.....

You need to either call NHS 24 or get yourself to a doctor! It could be a lot of things but it's not something you shrug off or head to the internet for. X

It’s a bit hard as I have dc and a single parent. I feel ok at the moment?

Sorry if that sounded harsh! And don't apologise for tmi. Just think, as I'm sure others will, that it would be wise to get to a doc asap!

EllenRipley · 09/08/2019 19:03

Could you place a call to NHS 24 for some advice?

SirVixofVixHall · 09/08/2019 19:05

You do need to talk to a doctor, I would go to A and E, but at the very least call NHS Direct.
Take a sample if you can.

Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:05

111 are rubbish though.... I feel fine just a twinge belly ache

Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:06

I flushed it away...: but took a photo?!

You’d be told the same by nhs 24 if it’s fresh blood you indefinitely need seen urgently to find the cause and source. You might feel ok to a bit yucky now but by the time you leave it till you don’t it might be 3am n impossible to get someone to watch dc.

Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:07

Iv felt fine all day just very stressed about one of my dc who is under care of hospital at the moment for stomach issues and ironically today had blood in his poo for the first time and I was on the phone to GP not knowing if I should be worrying and she said if he passed a lot then see a doctor but it wasn’t a problem unless it was dark/black. Is that not applicable to me?

TitsalinaBumSquash · 09/08/2019 19:08

Gosh yes, please call 111 or the equivalent and get seen, even if you have to take DC with you. It can be serious!

Mishappening · 09/08/2019 19:09

Quantity is critical. If it is small specks of red blood it could just be bleeding plies. If it is a bigger quantity you need to get seen by a medic.

thaegumathteth · 09/08/2019 19:09

You need to get seen now. Really. It will be inconvenient I’m sure but could prevent things getting worse for your dc and you.

EAIOU · 09/08/2019 19:09

Phone NHS24 for some practical help.

If you're bleeding a lot and its unusual, I'd seek advice if I were you.

Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:10

Oh god you’re all worrying me now. One of my dc is autistic and already having a bad day with him plus the other dc isn’t feeling well either...

It isn’t a lot?

I once had food poisoning and ended up passing a lot of blood. Although it doesn't sound like food poisoning (disclaimer: not a doctor) it made me very dehydrated and needed IV fluids to rehydrate me. Lots of blood loss can do funny things to your blood pressure that isn't great with DC. If you can find childcare now or after they go to bed then getting yourself to a doctor is important. At the very least call 111 for some professional advice.

PeoniesarePink · 09/08/2019 19:15

I've had piles pop, that is mucousy and blood stained but never more than the size of a 10p coin at maximum. And I never get tummy ache with them at all.

I think you need to be sensible OP and ring 111 for advice. You're no help to your kids if you end up being admitted as an emergency because you've ignored this........... and would you ignore this if it were one of your kids? No, of course you wouldn't.

Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:19

111 said more than normal calls and should only hold on for emergencies.... so Iv hung up and will try again. I feel ok, just feel like an upset stomach, not pain or anything

EllenRipley · 09/08/2019 19:21

No one's going to tell you otherwise OP! And neither can they diagnose you. But the symptoms you've described warrant, at the very very least, some medical advice, regardless of the fact you're not passed out on the floor or losing gallons of blood. As someone has said, you dont want to risk things escalating in the middle of the night! Don't panic, just be sensible. Id also suggest finding a small container; sterilise it and keep it close by so you can take a sample if you go to the loo again, if you do end up having to see a doc it might be useful!

Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:24

Ok I will try 111 in a bit. This again sounds tmi but it smells like period blood? Does blood from the back side smell like periody??

OP posts:
nocoolnamesleft · 09/08/2019 19:24

regardless of the fact you're not passed out on the floor or losing gallons of blood

Yet.

Get seen.

Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:25

How do you sterilise a pot? Boiling water?

OP posts:
Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:26

Ok so Iv just been to the toilet again and there isn’t any blood in this poo it’s just very soft?!

CatsForLife · 09/08/2019 19:28

Have you got/had piles? Could be a popped pile. Disclaimer: not a doctor.

Ouchmyheadhurts · 09/08/2019 19:30

I do have one of the buggers that wouldn’t go after dc who are all pre teens/early teens. I’ll go get a mirror to have a look but it’s an external one..
