Anyone free to have a look at a picture of my foot?

Pain in my foot since early hours Monday morning, it’s getting worse with driving and walking. I haven’t knocked it or fallen etc.

Fit and healthy, no medical conditions like diabetes.

I’ve scribbled out my un painted toe nails to save you all from seeing them.

What is going on with my foot?

Never too late for ice on acute pain. But not too long or it doesn't help. I'm supposed to put ice on my back but I can't think how long for Blush

This was a sprain a few years back, after I slipped down the side of a grass bank. Looks very similar to the OP's. Several X-rays later they managed to rule out a break, but it took months to heal fully. Though I was driving on it after two days because school run. I'd get yours X-rayed if I were you. Take plenty of anti-inflammatories.

My son had bruising like that (but more swelling) after falling off a climbing frame. Turns out he had a tiny break. On crutches for 4-6 weeks.

Def needs checking. Even a sprain can be debilitating and take months to heal. I had a bad sprain years ago, the pain was awful, couldn't believe it wasn't a break. Couldn't weight-bear on it for weeks.

Any better CheekyF?

CheekyFuckersDontGetPastMe · 01/06/2019 16:39

Still quite swollen and bruised but I’m up and about on painkillers, not risked me heels again yet though!

So did it get all better on its own (with just home care, no tablets?). That's good.

CheekyFuckersDontGetPastMe · 02/06/2019 12:21

Yes, as much rest as I could, normal painkillers and nothing else. Doesn’t look great but I’m walking normally again.

I had to do a lot of driving today, it’s now very, very swollen, my ankle bone has disappeared into a swollen Mess.

Do you think I should just wait it out, it’s only been 1 week and 2 days I’m walking on it with some sore moments but I’m weight bearing, it’s driving that makes it worse but unavoidable.

Did you go to see someone? I would if it's swollen up again after a week

YesQueen · 03/06/2019 21:48

Go and see someone. I walked on a broken ankle and foot for over 8 days and mine wasn't bruised or swollen

Wolfiefan · 04/06/2019 08:04

Get it checked. I hobbled around for a month before finally getting an x Ray. I had broken my ankle. Over a decade later it still causes me issues. Sad

rideawhiteswan · 04/06/2019 08:09

Go and get it checked at your gp today. I've walked around with a broken toe and made it worse.

Wolfiefan · 04/06/2019 08:13

GP can’t tell if it’s broken though. It’ll need an x Ray to be sure.

LizzieSiddal · 04/06/2019 08:16

You need an X-ray.

My granny has the exact same, hers is circulation.
What did the gp say?

CheekyFuckersDontGetPastMe · 04/06/2019 15:08

Just got back from A&E and it’s not broken - phew!
Badly sprained

Thank you!

Thank goodness. Hope it heals fast. Flowers

LizzieSiddal · 04/06/2019 20:17

Great, here’s to it healing quickly.

youlemming · 04/06/2019 22:29

Even though its not broken have you been given a boot or something to support it?

Both myself and DP have had ongoing issues with ankles that were ruled as sprains and to just rest/ice and later down the road been told they should have been immobilised to restrict movement while the ligaments healed.

Turns out DP's was a missed fracture and 5 yrs later is now waiting for surgery to remove the pieces of bone that broke off over time and worked their way into the ankle joint.

CheekyFuckersDontGetPastMe · 06/06/2019 23:03

Ive worked from home since Tuesday this week which means minimal driving and walking up and downstairs and also got loads of admin done in the peace and quiet so I’m all up to date.

Not as swollen but still sore I’m ok in ballet pumps but trainers and heels are ano go and barefoot is worse than wearing ballet pumps.

youlemming no boot support, I’ll keep your post in mind, rest up until Monday. I did see the x rays and everything look really fine break/fracture wise.

Such a pain - literally!
