Pain/tender back of calf after a hospital admission. What to do?

I was in hospital last week for an asthma flare, basically bed ridden the whole time and the majority of the time since. I was there 3 nights and had 2 heparin anti coagulation injections whilst there as per protocol. Last night and this morning I’ve noticed a pain in the back of my calf, getting heavier and more tender, almost like a cramp. Just one leg. It’s not sore to just touch, only to squeeze. I’m trying to leave it alone so as not to aggravate it further and let it settle. Is it possible I could have a DVT? If so what am I supposed to do about it? Thank you for your help!

I had a dvt and pulmonary embolism x 2 at age 19. Had I not been seen I would have died overnight.

Go to a&e

I've had a DVT after an ankle injury. Other than warmth on the area it was just damn painful. A constant ache that sometimes kept me awake and super painful when touched. Ignore people who say there should be bruising or swollen veins. That's not correct. I had mine for 3 days until I cracked and went to A&E and the ultrasound showed it had travelled from my ankle to my thigh. I had also started to get a little short of breath which was the start of a Pulmonary Embolism.

Treatment is easy if they find it and works within days. DVT is not to be fannied about with. Do not wait until you see a nurse about asthma! They will just refer you to casualty anyway.

I’m at the hospital for the asthma review and my leg still hurts so I am planning to mention it to the nurse when I see him.

Had bloods and a squeeze off a doctor. He thinks it’s fine but just waiting for this D Dimer result.
