I don't believe in vaccinations for children because after my 1st son had his mmr he was different he has recently been diagnosed with autism and there is a lot of people who say the same happened when their children were vaccinated the reason I'm asking is I'm now pregnant and was wondering have you got to have your child vaccinated Hmm

Bloody hell get your child vaccinated. It’s not fair to the other children you may be endangering

yes because as recently as in 1980 2.6 million people ... mainly children... died that year alone from measles... now it's something like 77,000 reduction is due to vacinations not measles "treatment"... obviously that figure doesn't include those that survive but have long term issues. These are WHO figures...

the levels of issues due, or possibly thought to be due, to the vaccinations is incredibly small.

everything in life has some risk... in this case the vaccination is much safer than not having it... especially as measles is on increase due to some unvaccinated....

Not all research into vaccination is done through government funded bodies or the pharmaceutical industry. A lot of academic research is funded through independent charities. I promise you that every scientists in the world did not get together at some
cloak and dagger vaccine meeting and decide to lie about what is in vaccines and it’s studied effects.

The benefit of vaccinations is proven.
It's not something you believe in don't believe in. Its not the bloody tooth fairy and you are not 5 years old.

You stated that you don't believe in vaccinations because you think they cause autism and you clearly don't want to vaccinate dc2. This makes you ignorant and dangerous.

My 1st child is fully vaccinated and the child I'm carrying will also be fully vaccinated. Even if there was a link between the MMR and autism I'd rather have an autistic child than a dead one.

As it happens, Andrew Wakefield admitted that he falsified his 'evidence' to fit his theory that the MMR causes autism. There has been much research done since the Wakefield scandal that has found absolutely no link between vaccines and autism. None. Autism is actually believed to be somewhat genetic.

Yes I do. Because I don't want my child to die. I kind of love them you see.

What is funny about risking life threatening and life changing diseases? It may amuse you but it is far from amusing for immunosuppressed people of new born babies who are at much greater risk if the herd population is not vaccinated.
It's not simply a personal choice for you and your dc2. It is an issue that affects other people.

Zip. Do you honestly not see why not vaccinating your child would be dangerous? Not just to them?

Amibear isn't even asking if we have vaccinated our DC.
She is asking if it is legal not to!
Clearly no interest in understanding the scientific, medical and ethical issues . She just wants to check shes allowed to not do it. Ffs.

No, we have scientific proof, not opinions.

In some US states the vaccination rates have dropped to 75-80%. The U.K. rates are around 90-95%.

We need an immunisation rate of >90% to prevent measles outbreaks and >80% to prevent polio via herd immunity.

Most people making decisions about vaccinations for their children will never have met someone with polio and what an impact the disease has on their life.

Antivaxers are spreading awful dangerous "research" with no scientific evidence behind it and they will kill lots of people.

Report
RaffertyFair · 06/02/2019 20:36

And for the record OP. No one is saying that vaccinations are 100% safe. They are not. Sadly there are children who have had catastrophic reactions.
The point is, that the risks involved with not vaccinating are significantly higher!

When it comes to autism, however it us clear- there is simply no evidence of a link.

People still making reference to it are doing massive harm by perpetuating a totally false notion. And also do the autistic community a massive disservice by perpetuating nonsense

Ok, to directly answer your question op. Afaik, if is not a legal requirement to vaccinate your child in the UK. I understand in some countries, vaccination is required to access school.

Hth.

Yes, you're dangerous to even consider not vaccinating.
Punctuation is not a science either, but it's a good thing to bear in mind if you expect people to take you seriously.
