I have this mildly, have been on antibiotics for about a year and suspect that this is the cause.

I just wondered if anyone knew a good homeopathic treatment for this?

Lol, having a very hot day! But good ,

CountessDracula · 21/06/2007 14:15

aha
so you are sceptical without having tried it

Have you tried chinese herbal medicine that might help it is vg for that sort of thing.

I had terrible eczema and homeoopathy made it a lot better. However a 6 week course of chinese herbs 15 years ago and I have not had any eczema since. it was so bad my legs were bleeding.

herbal totally different - that has stuff in it

Marmite · 21/06/2007 14:17

My dad had tinnitus and spend loads on chinese herbal rememdies - it didn't work!

Have tried the Bach Flower rememdies - didn't work! DH is a doctor and is very good at convincing me why things like that shouldn't work - (IYSWIM). He likes his sience

is urticaria the same as hives (think it is)?

I find aloe vera gel is very good for those. It also cools the skin.

meandmyflyingmachine · 21/06/2007 14:20

Works on animals apparently.

But then I believe there is evidence that placebos also work on animals (or so my psych tutor told me).

Still, working is working...

Marmite · 21/06/2007 14:21

Absolutely, if it works....

foxinsocks · 21/06/2007 14:24

in fact, it was a doctor methinks who recommended the aloe vera stuff to us (when dd used to get them)

meandmyflyingmachine · 21/06/2007 14:25

Aloe vera is fab.

CountessDracula · 21/06/2007 14:26

one of the gps at my local surgery is also a homeopath.

My mum used to work at a doctor's surgery where one of the GPs was also an acupunturist. She gave her a little pin in her ear for a bad back.

noddyholder · 21/06/2007 14:28

It is very difficult for homeopathy to work when you are on immunosuppressants. My sister is a homeopath and she says it takes persistance and longer to take effect.Best to go to a homeopath though and get the right thing

CountessDracula · 21/06/2007 14:29

yes they did mention that
i have appt with the gp in the morning
I take higher dose

My sister has sent me some homeopathic 'steroids' which I am going to start tomorrow in the hope of reducing the real ones in time.

CountessDracula · 21/06/2007 14:32

really?

How great that would be if it works, steriods are the PITS

noddyholder · 21/06/2007 14:33

So your logic is that animal experiments are wrong, therefore you promote quack medicines ?

What's the betting you believe in crystal therapy as well, and maybe the mystical powers of Dairylea ?

CountessDracula · 21/06/2007 18:02

nono
i am in favour of animal testing
if I buy something not tested on an animal I usually squirt it in my dog's eye just to be on the safe side
