Is it my imagination, or are some types of disposable nappy causing dd3's horrific nappy rash?

Because Pampers seemed to set it off

Tescos own always calmed it down.. But now Tescos have changed their nappies and sure enough, after three days of use, her bottom is red raw, skin peeling off . She doesnt appear to be teething and hasn't eaten anything particuarly strange.

yes it is like an allergy

the tescos ones used to be quite puffy and thick. the new ones are all thin. I reckon its something in the gel

am having the same problem with ds atm. always used tescos, no problems with rashes other than when he was on ab's. went shopping last week, none of their own nappies in stock???, so bought pampers, and low and behold, he smells of wee even after a little dribble and is red and spotty

i'm not sure what to do, we live in a village with 1 supermarket, tesco. if they aren't doing their own anymore i'll be really annoyed.

are they just changing packaging maybe and thats why they are phasing the easy fit ones out?

Enid · 10/06/2007 21:37

oh now pampers definitely set it off

maybe I will try the boots ones

OP posts:
Enid · 10/06/2007 21:38

they are doing them lucy but they are new, not just new packaging the nappies have changed, not nearly as nice

OP posts:
misdee · 10/06/2007 21:38

have tescos added lotion to theirs?

Enid · 10/06/2007 21:38

dont think so

they are really thin now like pampers

ds2 is allergic to Pampers and Boots own so I switched to Nature ones and all OK now.

lucykate · 10/06/2007 21:39

why on earth did they change them?, i know they were a bit bulky compared to others but performance and price wise, they were great.

i'm going to email them about this.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 10/06/2007 21:42

there is only one way to solve it.....
get totally addicted to cloth!
a great time to do it too in the summer.
lovely white nappies in the sunshine, flapping in the summer breeze on the line.
get some lovely wraps and there is no need for shorts/bottoms.

sorry!
hope you get your babes bottom sorted soon.
I cant remeber much about nappy rash anymore as mine dont get it in cloth.
but ds1 used to get awful rashes with pampers too....

misdee · 10/06/2007 21:42

thats terrible when they change them.

i used to like asda nappies, what about giving those a shot?

kiskidee · 10/06/2007 21:42

lidl nappies are v.v. similar to the old style tesco ones. same price too. maybe if you give them a try?

Enid · 10/06/2007 21:43

oh thats good to know

I have emailed them lucykate I am quite gutted

ladyofflowes I used to use sandys for dd2

flogged them all

lucykate · 10/06/2007 21:46

its a 30 mile round trip to our nearest lidl and asda is even further.

we have a boots, might try their own ones instead.

or if worst comes to the worst, i'll just have to potty train him. he's 2 and soooooo not ready yet though.
