All my teeth ache

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 17:06

I only went to the dentist on Friday because a wisdom tooth is trying to erupt and is sore but dentist said all fine and has stopped hurting. This is on the bottom teeth.

Now. Today. Seems all my top teeth ache, mainly the middle ones. What can cause so many teeth to ache?

Nb: raging health anxiety/ dentist phobia.

It could be hormonal

Chrisinthemorning · 17/07/2018 17:13

Sinus

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 17:17

Maverick I'm Day 5 of my cycle, my period is over. Can hormones still cause this?

I second sinuses.
Last time I had it my nose was clear but dear god all my teeth hurt.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/07/2018 17:19

I was doing to say sinuses or a head cold or even an ear infection

Hope they get back to normal soon. Toothache is the pits

Raederle · 17/07/2018 17:22

Do you grind your teeth when sleeping?

Maverick66 · 17/07/2018 17:25

Yes in my personal experience.
Went to dentist many times complains of my teeth aching but there was no dental reason.
Finally linked it my self to my hormones.
I take two paracetamol and it settles.

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 17:25

I clench my teeth yes but that would affect the back teeth not the front middle?

Dh and the kids both have colds. I thought I'd escaped it but maybe this is the start. Fab when we're going away too.

Sinus! This could make all your teeth hurt.

Also if I ever take solpadiene, all my teeth hurt the next day.

Did you take any tablets for the pain in your tooth?

Maverick66 · 17/07/2018 17:27

I think the clenching certainly plays a part.

I clench my teeth but again it's when I am hormonal and not every night.

Raederle · 17/07/2018 17:31

At least you can do something either way. Take something for cold/sinus trouble and try to relax your jaw. I find sitting with my tongue between my teeth helps me to relax it. Fingers crossed it brings you some relief.

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 17:36

In short though...dentist trip or not?

Another vote for cold/sinuses!

SimonBridges · 17/07/2018 18:07

Try taking sinus relief tablets first.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/07/2018 20:12

I went to emergency doctor last night with bad cough etc. She said do NOT take those sinus relief tablets because all it does is dry everything up and it all then sits in your head in a solid lump (sorry!)

duckyfuzzz · 18/07/2018 07:22

I slept fine but now I'm up and awake they're aching again Sad

I went to the dentist. Anxiety took over so I went. I had an X-ray of the front two which is where it feels the pain spills out from. No sign of anything wrong. He said all he can do is reassure me. But the throbbing around my mouth is getting to me. Comes and goes. I go away on Friday. I just hope it doesn't spoil the holiday.

Sinuses! I get sinustitus every year and the pain in my teeth is horrendous. Try nasal irrigation instead of tablets, you can get a kit from Boots-about £15. Yes it’s gross, but the results are pretty immediate.

duckyfuzzz · 18/07/2018 18:46

IKEA i doubt its sinusitis I don't have a runny nose or cough etc, just headache.

Judydreamsofhorses · 18/07/2018 19:49

Do you wear a night guard for the clenching? I have had pain in my top front teeth this year, which have never been filled or had any decay. After numerous x-rays and exams, a referral to Maxillo Facial, and an MRI, it’s been concluded that I am clenching the teeth into the guard, and essentially rocking them in their sockets. I am waiting on a new, different guard just now, which will fit the bottom teeth instead and move my jaw into a different position.

SimonBridges · 18/07/2018 20:28

I never get a runny nose with sinusitis.

387I2 · 18/07/2018 20:31

Do you clench or grind your teeth at night? That could be it.

mineofuselessinformation · 18/07/2018 20:43

Is your wisdom tooth impacted? It can put pressure on other teeth if it is trying to grow more sideways than out iyswim. That can and does cause other teeth to ache.

duckyfuzzz · 18/07/2018 20:48

I had a full mouth X-ray jan last year and wisdom tooth didn't appear to be impacted though none have fully erupted.

Today I had an X-ray of just front two teeth to eliminate infection etc. All clear. That's where the main ache stems from.

38712 yes I do often clench however that can't affect the front teeth as not within my bite.
