Continuation of the lovely Leslie's thread here as it was nearly full

If you're worried about symptoms, waiting for test results or just need a safe place to vent then pull up a seat, we're a friendly bunch and we don't bite too much Grin

There's quite a variety of cancers on this thread so hopefully one of us will have some advice and hopefully you don't need to stay for long.

I'll start with my story:
Diagnosed with stage 2b cervical cancer in October 2017, 25 lots of radiotherapy, 4 internal radiotherapy and 5 lots of chemo. Was told last week that it's spread and is incurable, palliative chemo starts on 16th July

Mrspotter12 yay! Hope it goes okay.

I'm in a foul mood today. Bad timing to give up chocolate with period due and can't comfort eat toast as appears I have an issue with wheat.

Welcome mymar. Sorry you have to be here but all the other posters will be a great support. I will too, just don't know anything Blush.

Mrspotter12 · 03/07/2018 17:06

year how are you feeling about tomorrow? TBH I'm crapping myself about my PET scan results tomorrow! Can't settle to anything- gonna be a looooong night!!!

YearOfYouRemember · 03/07/2018 17:57

I'm feeling more stressed as to whether I'll actually get an appointment. I have in to take dd somewhere so need to factor in that and worrying I'll have to not take my appointment to take dd to hers. Then the same on Thursday

What time is your appointment?

Watch the football? We are going to win so shouldn't be too stressful.

I'm a hormonal wreck. Might have to have emergency chocolate.

Mrspotter12 · 03/07/2018 18:01

I've had chocolate!!! It was very welcome!
I don't actually have an appointment tomorrow- due a phone call with the results.
I hope you manage to get you and your dds appointments sorted xx

noodles44 · 03/07/2018 18:53

Welcome mymar, the wait seems to be the worst bit of all this (mind you, I have not done much other than wait so far!)

I had a call from the Macmillan breast cancer nurse today to check I was alright and see if I had any questions, which I thought was very good. I did say I had found this thread and that it had eased my anxiety a wee bit to speak to people in similar situations.

Leslie thanks for the oxi info. I find out what drugs I am on on Thursday and potentially the side effects. The appt is over an hour with my Oncologist, so am anticipating an info overload headache again on Thurs night! Glad you managed to get some sleep this am too.

mrsp what a relief that your appt is so quick & not too much longer to wait. Am sure it will still feel like an eternity though.

TQ what are you having done to the garden? Sounds great (apart from the early starts)

purple are you still at the B&B making use of the hot tub? I hope so Smile

Hello to everyone Glitterball

noodles44 · 03/07/2018 18:55

And your PET scan results too mrsp
I hope they call you 1st thing and it is good news x

purpleunicorns · 03/07/2018 21:43

Chocolate makes everything better Grin

Good luck tomorrow Mrsp hopefully they'll ring you early so you're not waiting around all day

Unfortunately not Noodles, I had to leave the hot tub and go to work. I'd love a garden big enough to have my own hot tub in but I don't think the neighbours would be too impressed.
Just remember that it's very unlikely that you'll get all of the side effects but they do have to pre warn you just so you're prepared. Chances are you'll only get a couple of them

Hope your legs are behaving themselves Leslie

Welcome Mymar, I have no advice on biopsys but I've had the CT and PET scan, although the scans are similar they look at different things. The waiting is definitely the worst bit and you'll feel better once you have a plan in place and you know exactly what you're dealing with Thanks

Morning all.

Good luck mrspotter12.. Hopefully you'll be the first call of the day so you know sooner.

Just had a bit of a teary moment. I'm going to feel too embarrassed
ashamed to come back if it turns out there is nothing wrong with me.

YearOfYouRemember · 04/07/2018 08:08

No appointments left. Trying not to cry.

YearOfYouRemember · 04/07/2018 08:15

A lovely lady has just phoned back and stolen an appointment for tomorrow. Said they'd asked me to come in and then not given me an appointment. She's said she can't ask me to wait the three weeks it would be for a prebookable one.

Mrspotter12 · 04/07/2018 08:23

How awful year 😿
💐💐💐💐💐💐

addlebrained · 04/07/2018 08:25

That’s good year - I was about to write and say call them back and cry!! That would be really mean to make you wait so long! I hope all is explained clearly and remember to take someone if you need to help you remember/ask questions?

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 04/07/2018 08:28

Yay for the lovely lady :) I'm glad you'll get seen this week Year Flowers

purple you could get one of those inflatable ones? My aunt has a hot tub in her garden but whenever we visit all my younger cousins want to go in and they mess around and splash everyone so it's not very relaxing Hmm

noodles over an hour?! Is it private or NHS? That's quite intense.

Good luck today Mrspotter I hope they don't leave you waiting long Flowers

mymar I hope you'll still be able to go on holiday. All the waiting is a real drag Flowers

TQ sorry you're having to get up early. Can you go back to bed after they've arrived?! Hopefully it'll be worth it when they're finished :)

My legs have calmed down thank you. I slept much better last night.

How's everyone coping with the heat?

addlebrained · 04/07/2018 08:29

Good luck mrsp too Glitterball

I am feeling a bit Confused but in a sort of good way, as I finally got some sleep! Feel almost hungover and think it must be partly the randomly heavy weather this morning.

Waiting for some stuff to be delivered to new house but generally I have no idea what is going on and am confused so am just going with it and hoping that all the arrangements I have made for things just happen... HmmGrin

Brew and Glitterball to all

TwitterQueen1 · 04/07/2018 09:10

Workmen have not yet turned up and so I am (unreasonably) cross. Angry I set the alarm and rolled out of bed at 7.30, knackered because I was awake in the night. I've woken twice this week with heart racing, which is very unusual. I'm wondering if it's the CBD oil... I can't go back to bed Leslie, I need to be on hand in case of any questions.

Hi Noodles sadly I'm having all the greenery ripped out, plus the trampoline, which is no longer used, and replaced with gravel. I can't cope with the garden maintenance and it will be useful to have space for additional parking (though I'm the only one with a car). To be brutally honest I'm doing it to increase the house value for when it will be sold.

MrsP good luck for your results today.

Waving to everyone else.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 04/07/2018 11:06

That's annoying TQ Angry I hope they've turned up now!

addle I hope all the arrangements work out :)

Dulcedelecherocks · 04/07/2018 11:31

Hey ladies just popping in to say hi and wish good luck on apps. Been feeling very rough and tired and spending most of my time in bed. Hope you're all ok x

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 04/07/2018 12:05

Flowers I hope you start to feel better soon Dulce

addlebrained · 04/07/2018 15:32

Oh dulce I feel the same! I have so much to do but I am wiped out! Trying to move stuff to new house and I feel like I’m wearing lead boots! My throat is a bit sore and my head is all cotton wool like! I was desperate to get stuff done today as my sons term ends tomorrow so that will massively slow me down (lovely though he is!!!) AngryAngry bugger this stupid chemo and cancer!

Mrspotter12 · 04/07/2018 17:36

I haven't even started any treatment and I'm knackered so I can't imagine how you guys are feeling xxxx
Just a quick update while waiting for tea, PET scan came back and nothing sinister showing!!!! Got to retest again in a few months 😺😺😺

addlebrained · 04/07/2018 17:54

Yay mrsp that’s great! Glitterball

addlebrained · 04/07/2018 17:55

Good luck for tomorrow Year (am hoping I haven’t got the wrong end of the stick but thought you had appt tomorrow??)

purpleunicorns · 04/07/2018 18:06

Year what time is your appointment tomorrow? Hopefully it's first thing so you're not waiting around

Leslie it's far too hot. I think I've eaten my own weight in ice lollies. They have definitely all shrunk since I was a child Hmm

Addle I hope you have plenty of help moving, do you need to decorate too or is it all ready just to move your stuff in?

TQ I would be furious at having to get up too Angry I hope they had a good excuse

Good to hear from you Dulce, if the treatment gets too rough they can reduce it so you don't feel as bad Thanks

Mrsp that is fantastic news! So pleased for you

My alarm is set for 3:45 in the morning as they need a first aider in work at all times and there was nobody else to do it. I hope nobody needs first aid as I'll be no good to anyone that time of day Confused

TwitterQueen1 · 04/07/2018 18:25

Workmen didn't turn up at all today Angry. I've felt rubbish all day. I did manage a small snooze this pm so feel better this evening. Thank goodness the sun has not been so fierce today.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 04/07/2018 18:31

Shock that's early purple good luck!

Grrrrrr did they have a good excuse TQ?! I hope you feel better soon Flowers

Fantastic news Mrspotter what a relief! Glitterball

addle sorry you're struggling too Flowers

Waving to everyone. It's raining here. Only very lightly, but it's very refreshing.
