Hi
I'm about to start this at 10mg for nerve pain. (Actually I've been putting it off as I hate side effects)
Just wondered if anyone can offer any advice please?
I've read so much about it.
Thanks

I’ve just been prescribed this too. For ‘chronic pelvic oain’ (Basically constant period type pain, IBS, back pain - all without a specific diagnosis but constant and a bit of a problem).
GP recommended taking it at tea time to minimise the morning hangover feeling. Which seems to work for me. Sleep is fabulous but H reports terrible snoring Grin. No other side effects so far.

My problem with it is I work shifts, days, nights and on-call at least once a week, so can’t take it consistently and can’t get a steady dose of it so can’t tell if it’s making a difference yet.

Mummytron · 06/02/2018 17:00

Interesting, my GP said take it at 10pm but everyone I've spoken to says 8pm. Happy to take it at teatime but don't want to be asleep too early!

@Brighteyes27 "I certainly would not have wanted to drive more than ten ministers. "

this made me LOL so hard!!

hope it works for you OP.

Brighteyes27 · 06/02/2018 17:16

Riverside2 - lol I wouldn’t care I am not even on it now. What can I say spelling, phone and failing eye sight.

Riverside2 · 06/02/2018 17:22

Brighteyes27, you did really make me laugh on a gloomy day so thank you Grin

there must be a comedy sketch in there....someone reading the label

"May cause drowsiness, do NOT drive more than ten ministers. Even then, be sure to pick the least favourite in the local area" Grin

I bottled it again 😢😢
Read it can give you palpitations and I get those anyway and I don't want anything worse. Can't risk it. Yet tomorrow I'll be in pain 😔

Please take the medication. If not for you, then for the long term goal of reducing pain, and having better quality of life for you and your family.

Hi mummytron. Another wuss here! I was prescribed 10 mg 2 weeks ago ( for stress headaches. GP reckons 6 wks of it might help knock it on the head no pun intended) but I'm also worried about the grogginess. I don't go to bed very early but get up at 6.30 but can't go to bed at 8.30! Everytime I think I'll take it then I realise that I may have to drive the next day! Typical that I've only one bad head since prescription as I usu get them more frequently and they are very debilitating lasting 3 days at a time sometimes.I wonder if the groggy part lessens after a few days use? This thread hasn't convinced me however my GP said it's a safe drug to come off of straight away. I too hate having to take medication.

BlackType · 03/02/2019 23:08

It made bugger all difference to me (pain wise and side effects wise). And I did take it with alcohol.

LadyB49 · 04/02/2019 00:46

I got it to help with insomnia. Was up to 75mg and still no sleep so weaned myself off it. Pregabalin works better for me. It also helps with fibro pain.
