I really struggle at keeping myself motivated and get very easily sidetracked.
The ebay/debt free threads do quite a good job on me so anyone want to join me on a Gym one?????

i need to get motivated to do a class

am really scared of thin blonde 18 yos who lift dumbells with ease and have actual stomach muscles. and who KNOW the feckin music they play

MrsWho · 23/04/2007 11:07

Well I actually went yesterday but only had 1/2 hour 'cos I wasted all day and went not long before I had to pick the kids up and have booked myself into aquarobics at 11.30 (really need to get moving actually) but didn't go at all last week or the week before (swam with kids though)

Fillyjonk · 23/04/2007 11:10

see my problem is that i always have one or t'other kid with me

Lizzylou · 23/04/2007 11:13

I've been going since September, about 4 times a week (evenings and weekends) and have also started running outside now weather is better. I couldn't even run for 1 minute last year, now I really enjoy it and feel fab afterwards. I have lost about 1 stone and have toned up lots, need to lose about another stone.

Do it, you feel great afterwards and the more you go, then more you miss it when you don't.

Fillyjonk · 23/04/2007 11:16

lizzy say more about running

i have actually been going about 3 times a week, used to run loads pre kids but now, am struggling to do even a few minutes

Shutupaboutyourflippingbabies · 23/04/2007 11:16

GO YOU FAT BLOATERS

Shutupaboutyourflippingbabies · 23/04/2007 11:17

worked?

Fillyjonk · 23/04/2007 11:17

ah get yourself on a party train

Lizzylou · 23/04/2007 11:22

FJ, I started off on the treadmill, just doing what I could and trying not to get embarrassed when I had to stop and walk (helps that is non-poncy gym) and built up, each time I tried to better myself by doing 1 minute more than the last. DH also got me an IPOD shuffle which has helped loads. NOw I run for about 20mins on the treadmill + walking to warm up/cool down and more when I run outside...

Shutup ???

vimfuego · 23/04/2007 11:24

If you're like me when you end a workout you feel knackered but fantastic. I never walked out of the gym and thought that I regretted going.

So before you go, concentrate on looking forward to that great feeling afterwards!

Shutupaboutyourflippingbabies · 23/04/2007 11:27

Good tip.

Fillyjonk · 23/04/2007 11:28

ah so it involved hard work lizzy

Well while you lot were sat here eating hobknobs I have been to aquarobics, tesco had a healthy lunch of Leek and potato soup followedbyanotsohealthycreamegg.

Aquarobics wasn't too bad as it was mainly women in their 40s/50s so no skinny blonde women with stomach muscles I amjust not very coordinated so kept crashing into people

Won't get there tomorrow, so need to keep motivated to Weds ,hopefully a balance class(if I don't get called to work) and swimming

I am motivated by the fact that I book DD (16 weeks) in to the cresh at the gym at a time when she will be tired. I would rather be on a treadmill than walking around in endless circles trying to get her to sleep. Don't know if the cresh ladies are that pleased to see us arrive though...

Fillyjonk · 25/04/2007 08:20

lol

went to a NIA class last night

omg

8 overweight middle aged women flopping about on the floor pretending to be (and I quote) "embryonic frogs"

the instructor was very...ahem...enthusiastic.

MrsWho · 25/04/2007 20:01

bet that was fun filly!

I have been to a balnace class this am (haven't been for 2 months due to one thing and an other) and could still do most of the advanced stuff too Wasn't sure whether my hand would hold but it was fine just abit stiff now.ALSO I ended up at the front of the class (have to get there earlier next time!) but I wasn't actually flinching at my self in the mirror so must be looking better

I took the kids swimming tonight too , that must count as exercise walking lengths with dd2 !

OP posts:
MrsWho · 26/04/2007 12:52

Haven't been today very tired after dd2s paddythis am which has left me with a headache.
BUT I have been a booked horse riding for Sunday (after 3 years off!) so really looking forward to that!
