To visit the walk in centre?

The top of my bumcrack has a small white/flesh coloured spot on it and although it looks insignificant, it is stinging like mad and I can barely sit. AIBU to go to the walk in centre? I can't take a minute more of this and what's worse is that I am on my period :(

How can you even see a spot on your bum crack? I m twisting away and no way can I see my bum crack enough to see a spot :s

Maudlinmaud · 03/12/2017 10:52

I'm on the fence. The op may or may not have something physically wrong with her but she is certainly ill. She needs treatment for her anxiety, it must be awful to be on high alert like this most of the time. I don't think HA is attention seeking behaviour in the slightest. It's very real for those who suffer from it.

LEMtheoriginal · 03/12/2017 10:55

CHRYS - I Don't doubt those statistics. I have "wasted" my GP's time on many occasion. Because i have a good gp she addressed the health anxiety and as a consequence I don't waste so much of her time.

Save you're ire for the smokers who are by far the biggest burden on the NHS.

Sienna333 · 03/12/2017 11:11

I just got seen and nurse said she can't see anything external so that's piles ruled out. You don't just bleed for no reason so it must be serious.

Foggymist · 03/12/2017 11:11

You mentioned that you can't see any piles or fissures. It would be very impressive if you could see a tear in your own anal canal!

Twice, it happened again when I went just now. This isn't normal.

OP posts:
lookingforthecorkscrew · 03/12/2017 11:28

What does the DR say?

Foggymist · 03/12/2017 11:29

Twice still isnt a big deal or life threatening! It's not normal if it continued in your daily life for a long period with no diagnosed cause, twice in a brief period is not too abnormal.

ChickensGoBoak · 03/12/2017 11:29

I'd argue having 2 bowel movements in such a short period of time is more indicative of an issue, and it is the regular bms that are causing bleeding. You went through tests (didn't you?) Last month, during your last bout of anxiety. Has there been significant problems I'm sure something would have been discovered then

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 03/12/2017 11:31

Op you don't seem to accept any advice regarding HA or seeking help?
Please do, this can't be fun for you constantly worrying.

Noofly · 03/12/2017 11:31

Sienna what did the nurse say beyond not being able to see any piles? Honestly, the tiniest thing can set off that area. Last week I cycled too long and too hard on a spin bike and it hurt like a motherfucker at both sides and I had a bit of bleeding too for a couple of days- all just from the bike. Blush It’s a super sensitive area.

Sienna333 · 03/12/2017 11:37

She said she couldn't feel anything externally but that doesn't give me any comfort. Said she isn't allowed to look inside so if the bleeding continues, see a doctor again. It hasn't made me feel better at all.

OP posts:
Sienna333 · 03/12/2017 11:39

At the moment all I can focus on is the bleeding not the health anxiety. That will have to come after.

OP posts:
Noofly · 03/12/2017 11:47

OK, try to get a GP appointment tomorrow. I don’t have any health anxieties but this sounds overwhelming to you so is there anything you can do today to keep your mind occupied and at least temporarily distract you? I’d also come off this thread- I don’t think some of the comments are helping you at all.

Chrys2017 · 03/12/2017 11:48

@LEMtheoriginal Ah, yes, but smokers bring in approx £12 billion in direct tax revenues, so that more than offsets the approx £5 billion (using the most generous estimates) they cost the NHS.

Blood in poo isnt that unusual and it is usually as a result of anal fissure or piles (which arnt necessarily external). I get it regularly. Generally speaking (I'm not a medically qualified person so dont take this as gospel) fresh bright red blood is more likely to indicate fissures and piles whereas darker blood is more indicative of something that needs looking at. Try not to worry too much.

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 03/12/2017 11:55

Sienna, you are choosing to ignore those who are trying to help you. I know you have a mental illness but there is a choice to seek help or you can just continue as you are....but I don’t think it’s making you happy.

I sort of see where tinysheep is coming from. OP may or may not attend a walk-in centre, see a doctor, a nurse, have tests or whatever which all cost money. OP will, with 99.999999% certainty be told she has nothing more serious than a scratch on her arse.

That is doing nothing to tackle the OP's clear mental health issue. Once this crisis has passed it will be something else. A sore toe will be gangrene. A headache a brain tumour. A spot on her face skin cancer. A cold will be full blown ebola. This will go on and on and on until OP presents herself to the GP - not an A&E centre - and asks for a psychiatric referral.

honeyravioli · 03/12/2017 11:58

So looks like everyone is wrong and actually, I am very ill

Yes, but not with anything to do with your arse.

Seriously, seek help. you truly need it.

Whirliegigspider · 03/12/2017 12:04

tiny she could easily have been seen especially if it is a triage type nurse situation. It was an hour between postings she was going. She could live 10 min away and then have been taken within half an hour and have posted while still there. Especially if the op presented in a very anxious state she may well have been triaged quickly and sometimes you hit it lucky with walk in/ooh being quieter.

I think the op as serious health anxiety and needs help.

honeyravioli · 03/12/2017 12:07

I just got seen and nurse said she can't see anything external so that's piles ruled out

She did not say that. No way.

I have to agree with the pp, your mental health issues may be serious but at this point you are making things up. How did you manage to get to the walk in centre and be seen and examined in about 15 minutes?

Sienna333 · 03/12/2017 12:07

I knew someone would accuse me of lying about going to the walk in centre. I assure you all I did go and was seen very quickly as it was quiet. But it didn't put my mind at rest as she couldn't see any piles/fissures. She said there was some irritation but I doubt that would cause blood.
As I said, I know I have health anxiety but finding blood in the toilet when you go for BM's is not normal. I am pretty sure I will be referred for a coloscopy which terrifies me.
