I'm so fed up of my health I am never ever going a week without being sick. I have nerve damage in my back from a nephrostomy.
I am now unable to breathe properly disorientated and slept since 11am I don't know where to post
I phoned 111 and no doc available I can't get to hospital and they have sent an ambulance I am so fed up and scared. I think I have an infection but I am so confused

Hope you feel better soon OP Flowers

dissapointedafternoon · 16/11/2017 22:29

It's not about waiting it's about my health and thanks I am not ashamed of myself I was protecting my family: I did not turn them away did I ? I said good night because I went to sleep to rest before they came and that point thought the conversation can continue tomorrow.
Why on earth I should be ashamed for just wanting to look after it in the morning is beyond me...

Thank you to every single one of you who reassured me and contacted me to make me feel better when I was alone,

I hope you get some antibiotics soon.

LondonLassInTheCountry · 16/11/2017 22:36

""""There is a three hour wait and I am in excruciating pain. Sitting in a waiting room is not conducive to my healing""""

This does not mean you call an ambulance and just because someone arrives in an ambulance doesnt mean they go straight thru

My kidneys have failed twice this year, very ill. Alot of pain. Passed out at one point.
I did not call an ambulance and i live 30 miles away from a hospital

Whirliegigspider · 16/11/2017 22:36

Hope you have a good sleep

Battleax · 16/11/2017 22:49

Can't the GP at least do a phone appointment?

dissapointedafternoon · 16/11/2017 22:55

I didn't call an ambulance I called 111 this afternoon at 3 pm because I am in the process of changing GPS.
Sorry to hear your kidneys failed. I have nearly died as a result of my kidney issues more then 4 times in the last two years so I have a lot of empathy for you. It's a shame you don't feel the same way for me.

If you read my original posts it explains it.

I won't sleep well will I? Being sick and in pain doesn't equate to a good sleep.
Thanks for all the sarcasm peace out

There must be some way for you at least to get some primary care (OOH, clinic or whatever for exam, advice and antibiotics at least) without ambulances and a&e.

Silvercatowner · 17/11/2017 08:26

Not getting at you OP, but I think this is a symptom of a very sick NHS that sending an ambulance is the first response to your issue which clearly isn't an accident or an emergency.

Floralnomad · 17/11/2017 08:37

Hope you are ok this morning OP

dissapointedafternoon · 17/11/2017 08:48

It was primary care and their way of triaging isn't very good as I'm sure many of you know.
Anyway I've got it sorted now. Thanks

Omg I was not being sarcastic. If you have received treatment and are deemed safe enough to stay at home and not needed of hosp admission then I assume you aren't screaming in agony? If so they'd have taken you in or should have done. You had received a lot of negative comments and I was going to post "get well soon" but thought perhaps as it seems to be a long term issue that wouldn't be the right thing to say so was hoping you would have a settled nights sleep. How unbelievably rude you are being. Sleep is incredibly important when unwell. With a chronic illness myself I know that. I simply wished you a good sleep. No sarcasm. It's not my fault you seem to be reading double meanings into posts. No wonder posters are getting frustrated with you on here. If you are that unwell that you are going to be unable to get any sleep and find the idea of someone suggesting you are able to sleep so offensive then you need to attend a hospital or get one of the adults to take you to a Dr.

donajimena · 18/11/2017 16:53

I don't know why you were given such a hard time on this thread. I hope you are on the mend.
Why mention sepsis someone asked? Because I want people to be aware of it. My friends husband who was feeling poorly died of it. If people are not aware of sepsis how can we reduce the number of people dying from it?

Quick update on me being a time wasting, ungrateful human who should be ashamed of themselves. I've been in hospital 3 times since I posted this for pain management. The pain team have abandoned me. The new gps I have are brilliant. I'm seeing them at 2.50 to get a new prescription for stronger rescue medication whilst I wait for the Botox in my back on Friday next week.
So yea I'm such a time waster. I was so upset by these comments I discussed with paramedics who all said I am not a time waster at all. I laid in bed alone in hospital all of the times and was really well taken care of by the staff.
I wasn't jumping a queue I shouldn't have been in a queue to start off with they said. They saw me right away and sent me for scans as soon as I arrived.
To anyone who supported me, thank you.
To those of you who said I should be ashamed, you should be ashamed not being kinder and not helping when the title clearly said I was looking for help.
As I had down played my symptoms on the phone that's why I was left for hours but the next three times I told the truth and an ambulance was with me within 5 minutes.

The culture of patient-blaming on here is similar to the shaming of people needing benefits to survive. Some of these posters could end up contributing to someone's death with their ill-informed judgemental comments.

MummySparkle · 24/11/2017 17:43

Flowers for you disappointed. Glad you have a plan in place to get things sorted

songbird84 · 24/11/2017 17:45

Glad you have a plan OP.

I hope they know what’s causing your pain

Thank goodness we have the NHS

dissapointedafternoon · 24/11/2017 23:40

@songbird84 we are still coming up with a plan but I feel soothed knowing I'm more on the radar. It's hard to get help before it's over urgent with the NHS, who I treasure. Thank you for your kind words.

@MummySparkle thank you for the sympathy, it helps knowing other people think this is a sad place to beS

@Footle you are so right. There is a shaming culture on here and some people act as if they are the Bert example of a human being on the planet by enduring s 30 mile trip to hospital.
I've endured pain for 2 years and people still think I'm a lazy or spilt or arrogant or stupid brat for saying I can't believe I had to wait 7 hours for help that I genuinely needed. Thank you for highlighting that and I hope it makes other posters re consider the way they speak to people who are miserable.

As a side note I spent the afternoon in hospital trying to get my sons 40.8 degree tempuratue under control! I was so scared. The paediatric team were phoenominal
