in the evenings he gets very upset by how much it hurts. keeps saying ihe needs to poo, but nothing. says very painful
but i hve checked his bottom, and it all looks normal. not inflamed or anything. sent him to bed after giving him some germolene to put on it. thought the anesthetic might soothe it.
he has been complaining bout this for a few days now. anyon have any ideas or experience?

Worms love, get some tablets from Boots. You have to wash all their bedding blah blah blah

Its very common and there isn't a rash visible or anything.

easterswapforwurlywurly · 16/04/2007 23:27

could it be worms? i know that they make the person have a very itchy bottom, though not much more than that.

UCM · 16/04/2007 23:27

Should have added, they are more active in the evening and will make your little/big one feel very uncomfortable.

UCM · 16/04/2007 23:28

If you can observe his stools, that would be helpful. Apparently they wave at you

stitch · 16/04/2007 23:29

yikes.
does this mean all of us will get them?
whe you say wash, do you just mean normal bed changeing, or do you mean boilwash everything he owns?

thread worms little clean worms about 3mm long.
clean all towers, bedding for the entire house on a high temp. Get tables for thread worm and everyone take them. They spread via itching bum and not washing hands so someone else can ingest not nice picture but most children are not super hot on toilet hygiene sorry.
If everyone in household takes tables you'll be fine they will go fast and everyone will be back to normal.
Tread worm make bums very itchy and according to my book can make bum feel hot and the hole feel sticky wet and very uncomfortable to person will itch.
Continuous circle as if you itch and don't wash your fingers will end up near our mouth and once ingested they grow again, sorry.

I am convinced that DS had them once, I even took his stools out of the toilet with a latex glove as he cried in the evening and kept saying he had sand down his bum.

I was pg, the pharmacist in boots told me that I had to boil wash everything. I didn't, just his bedding and gave him a pill and I believe they went. I am not sure that he had them, but it sounds similar.

Yep. Worms. Have a look with a torch. The mummy worm comes out at night to lay her eggs. She wants to spread the eggs so she likes to make it itchy as then eggs will be scratched off and moved around the place.

Stitch toughen up. You'll be fine. I have this every couple of months. It's horrible, but you just hand out the medicine, wash the bed clothes and make the affected kids wear pants at night to stop spreading.

i always have to be sure sally...strange obsessional way so that i can boil wash the childs whole being for weeks afterwards - those without 'evidence' just get a scrubbing brush and mangelled duvet!

twinsetandpearls · 17/04/2007 00:00

OMG can you imagine if this poor lad wakes up to find himself face down with his mother parting his but cheeks with a torch in one hand and sellotape in another. PLease wake him and at least let him know what is going on.
