ive been to see nurse practioner today.

a few days ago i had raging thrush so used my usual cream (i used to be plagued and its canestan resisitant) i now get it rarely.

im ttc and over the fertile window we were dtd up to 3 times daily. (not a chore! lol)
anyway a few days ago i noticed a painful swelling at the entrance to my vagina to the left. its got worse. and worse.
went to gp today and nurse could clearly see and feel huge lump - she took swabs and has started me on antibiotics.

what the heck could it be? its not a blocked hair follicle or anything on the outside.
anyone had similar?

Ouch, is anything easing the pain at all ?

Myusernamewhichisthis · 06/08/2017 20:27

ive been havng hot baths but we are having new bathroom fitted so its hard.

ive been using a wheat bag as hot as i can bear and i tried a hot flannel the other day.

ive taken paracetamol and will take more in a bit. but in short - no - im still in pain. i think because ive carried on cooking and shopping etc everyone thinks im fine - im not. when i said its like sitting on a red hot poker i wasnt joking.

You poor thing. I promise you, once it's gone, the relief is immediate. The best feeling ever.

friskybivalves · 06/08/2017 20:33

I think you should get yourself to A&E anyway. They ought to triage you and if you are in AGONY I reckon they can tell by the look on your face. I've been a couple of times with serious UTIs - i.e., not with anything immediately visible - and they took my pulse, realised I was in monster pain, and whacked me with a blissful pethidine injection. No waiting to speak of.

NipInTheAir · 06/08/2017 20:44

If they witter about waiting and seeing. I have found these words very helpful.

"Yes, that's a good idea bit I work full time. If I'm unreliable my job is at risk. If I lose my job I don't earn money and can't pay tax so I think It's in all our interests to get this sorted as soon as possible please".

TTC joined by aunt fanny is grim op. Sorry you are going through that. Get Fanny sorted asap so you are ready to try again asap. ))))Flowers((((

hi guys thank you so much for all your help and advice with this.

i went to A&E yeterday and was given a GA and had a procedure called marsupiallisation!! or near enough if i could spell it.....anyway they were absolutely lovely. nurse put me in side room where i could lay and immediately got doctor who immeditately got gynea doc who immediately got gynea resistrar nd they operated within hours.

i had a 4cm abcess and now have 6 stitches and 2 weeks off work. id gone alone as oh really didnt think theyd do anything - he missed me going to theartre but was there when i came to and i was allowed to go home with him after a few hours and proving i could drink eat and wee!

im so much more comfortable today. i thought i would would have fanjo that looked like roadkill but actually its quite neat!

thank you again everyone for all your help - i really dont think id have gone if it werent for this thread - id have suffered on.

Wow! That's efficient!

Do you realise your name is different? If it matters, report your post and ask them to name change it for you.

I'm glad you were seen so quickly. And hope you recover well.

stillvicarinatutu · 08/08/2017 14:16
