I'm driven mad by sebhortic dermatitis. I must have forked out millions on bloody shampoos that don't work/ knacker your hair.
What else can I try?
Tgel, Moogoo don't work. Nor does Alphosyl, but that doesn't wreck your hair.
Nizarol and Oilatum have some effect, but God, the after results are awful. Wild kinky frizzy hair, that will not be calmed down
Body shop ginger shampoo made my hair go frizzy too.

Where do l go now? The cost of Nizarol and piss me off. Also, if you put conditioner on after one of these shampoos does it wash away the medical effects?

So how can l stop crazy itching or crazy frizxing. I've got betnovate scalp solution from the doctors but you aren't supposed to use it every day☹️

Wash your hair less!

Just leave it be, wash it a gentle shampoo once a week

Cacti · 12/06/2017 22:38

Lush, their soak n float bar is the only thing that cures an itchy scalp for me.

ImaLannister · 12/06/2017 22:46

Thanks for the tips - I'm gunna try L'Oréal men's anti dandruff shampoo. I currently use Neutrogena TGel and have done for around 2 years now. That and a cheapo anti dandruff one from poundstretcher to break it up a bit as apparently if you use the sane one too often your head be ones immune to it?
But yeah I'm pissed off coz I see all these lovely shampoos, herbal essences exotic fragrances etc but I have to skim right past them n buy the TGel that smells like death! 😩

ImaLannister · 12/06/2017 22:48

If you use the same one too often your head be ones immune to it* another victim of the damn typo!*

ImaLannister · 12/06/2017 22:49

Becomes! Oh ffs!

I only wash my hair twice a week, as it doesn't get dirty. It gets itchy though and washing it relieves the itch.

Try the loreal,it sounds just like I had for years and it's totally stopped it. Worked for a friend too.

HelenMcHelen · 13/06/2017 09:06

washing it relieves the itch
Yes.
I had very short hair all my life and washed it every day, my GP told me to wash it less often. So for the last year I have been growing it into a style that doesn't need a daily wash, but the itching is no better and the relief when I wash it tempts me to have it all cut off and go back to daily washing.

Go see your GP. My psoriasis is held at bay with alphosyl but occasionally I need a cream that you sleep in then wash out in the morning.

Boots used to do a honeysuckle oil that was good, but I have not seen it for ages.

The L'Oreal one is really good for flaky scalp and makes your hair squeaky clean. Great stuff. It's the only thing that worked for DS and he had tried everything until I saw it recommended on here.

For me E45 is good for itchy scalp if i leave it on for 5 minutes and then rinse.

The Garnier one made it worse!

The worst thing is that if you have coloured hair all those shampoos strip the colour.

Try not to eat any sugary things as it makes it worse.
