agree with Soupy re solution - I didn't wear make-up for 18 months

I put mine down to my eyes being tired and running and the salt from the tears irritating my skin

Nbg · 06/03/2007 12:05

Ahhhh you have exczema.
Thats what I have. If i didnt use the hydrocortisone I would look like I'd just done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.

Its horrid. Although there is light at the end of the tunnel cos I dont get it anymore.

Hydrocortisone is the best. It works after a day.

foxinsocks · 06/03/2007 12:09

have you tried thick emollient creams on it (like eumobase)? you can get them in the chemist or ask for them over the counter if they aren't on display (they are in Boots, in the eczema/dry skin bit) - they are like thick aqueous cream. Good to put on in between hydrocortisone applications. Keeps the skin soft and moisturised.

foxinsocks · 06/03/2007 12:09

you can also get special eye drops for allergies

aqueous cream?

altho dont quote me

diprobase?

foxinsocks · 06/03/2007 12:13

yes, eumobase (on the shelf) or doublebase/diprobase over the counter - I'd try eumobase first though - it's easier to get and I think slightly cheaper than the other two.

Cod I have had this off and on for the last 12 months!

Was the lancome eyeliner that triggered it. I stopped wearing eye make up for three months and used anti-allergy eye drops for 10 days - seems to have cleared up now. Am using clinique mascara and that's about it though.

Have you used a new eye cream? eren't you talking about getting one a few weeks ago? Did you get one? Could it be that?

The other thing it could be is blepheritis (sp?)

Doc thought I had that - treatement was to bathe eyes with warm flannel fr two - five minutes then clean with dilute baby shampoo. Do you have flaky eyelids? that's a sign.
