I can post to Spain, if you send enough to cover the extra postage...

You could pay by paypal malaleche? Or it may work out cheaper if you just buy one online from a Spanish co, as you would have to pay my paypal fees as well...?

theheadgirl and anyone else, I should reply to you all this weekend - just chase me if it has been a while and you haven't heard anything

my worry about mooncups - is that the only time I have had a UTI - since having my kidney removed in 1988 - was after using a mooncup. Am scared to try again

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 08:10

Oh dear I can understand that worry Beety

do you feel it was caused by the Mooncup? How do you think it could have happened?

OP posts:
Beetrootccio · 24/03/2007 08:11

i wodner if it was the pressure on my uretha from the cup - dunno

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 08:17

oh how nasty

it could have been a co-incidence I suppose but does seem like it would be wiser to avoid in future

FairyEdwards · 24/03/2007 22:19

oh sorry - they seem really weird to me collecting all that stuff - is it okay or does it make you feel really ill?

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 22:23

Well, it doesn't make me feel ill, no - I can't speak for everyone though

Does changing pads or tampons make you feel ill? I mean, I do understand that menstruation does make some people feel squeamish, but if you are usually ok about using sanitary protection there is not much difference with this, really.

OP posts:
FairyEdwards · 24/03/2007 22:28

yes I hate tampons and pads. My sister told me about these mooncup things because I hate tampons so much and she said it was really good because it is much better for you as it is internal but without drying. I hate tampons feeling al dry when you pull them out.

Does the blood go all clotty in the cup? that would make me feel sick. Does it ever spill when you take it out?

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 22:31

Yes, other people have mentioned that to me about hating the dry feeling of tampons. You certainly don't get that with a Mooncup.

I think it obviously depends what sort of a flow you have, as to what you will get in the cup. I have read some interesting descriptions on here

I am a bit squeamish about blood, and thought I would find it hard to cope with at first, but I really have found it no bother at all. More a sort of interest at what my body is producing, really.

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 22:33

Oh and I have not been unlucky enough to spill anything yet although I think I read a story of someone coming out of a friend's bathroom covered in blood? Or was that just a nightmare I had?

FairyEdwards · 24/03/2007 22:33

how long does it take you to get uesd to it and is it hard to put in? Is it made of plastic like an egg cup or is it soft - if it is soft how come it stays in?

SparklingCleanFishTankOwner · 24/03/2007 22:42

I found it took a cycle or two for me to get fully used to it. Imagine an egg cup that is flexible enough to fold in half but springs back into shape when you stop holding it. It stays in because it is designed to form a seal. I think. However it works, it does work!

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 22:44

It is very flexible, and it stays in because your vagina holds it in place

It took me less than one cycle to get used to mine, but I have heard other people have taken longer or never really felt comfortable with it. Many people on here feel evangelical about them though as they have found them so comfortable, eco-friendly and convenient.

There's a lot more information here if you or anyone else would like to read more, Fairy

it is a lot of money if you don't like it. I hate most sanitary thigns and have been using screwed up toilet paper as I hate everything else. My sister is a right hippy and loves this mooncup thing but thought it was part of her scence. Now I have heard about it on here I am tempted to get one, I would love something that worked.

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 22:50

I hope you can find something that works for you Fairy; read some more on the Mooncup website I linked to if you think it might be something worth trying

Get one! Get one! I love mine (sorry F&Z, not from you - didn't know you sold them). I'm thinking of buying them for all my friends. Not sure what the reaction would be!

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2007 23:08

No problem decaf, I have only been able to do this recently

I think you would get some interesting reactions from your friends
